Finally had the chance to try out this establishment with the family and what an experience I had my eye on the great southern rib eye steak but was a little taken back when we were told the price of $80 but for 800 grams you definitely need to be hungry or just share with another so i went with the eye fillet and it was delicious and so tender and others had the prawns in tempura batter and the gnocchi which they where all happy with. Overall a thumbs up from the four of us

Our first visit to Gourmet Paddock was in December, we were showing a friend from UK around the Mornington Peninsula and stubbled across this vast eatery, paddock is appropriate, while looking for a decent cup of coffee in the afternoon. Concept is different and fascinated the 3 of us. Coffee was good as were the sweet treats. Music too loud. Area for children a good idea. Our next visit was just my husband and I for a quiet afternoon drink before returning home to cook for the family (9). Although very few customers in the paddock service was very slow, both taking order and serving, music still too loud. Our third visit was for dinner with extended family 10 in total. Service was haphazard although friendly, our meals arrived at different times. We only had one course each which was enough. Food was delicious and well presented.
Music still too loud. Will we return? maybe if just to see if it has matured into a better serviced restaurant/bar/café/butcher/deli/fish shop etc, with quieter music.

Tried this out with friends on Saturday night. Great atmosphere and a well built and well designed restaurant. Ticked all the boxes with a sophisticated vibe but also catered for kids with a large play area at the front and a good kids menu. I was impressed by the selection of great local produce with locally sourced meat, wines, craft beers and coffee from my favourite cafe, St Ali. Well cooked popular options with a bit a geographical mix. We started with a mixed platter that had a combination of spring rolls, olives, octopus and other tasty treats (so greek and asian on one platter?) and then had pad thai and the beef curry. Eton mess for desert. We waited a little time for the service but it was a busy Saturday night. The food was excellent, great quality, fresh and good portions. Wine and craft beer was great. It seems the gourmet paddock is a little confused about its geographical roots but when there is a wide range of well cooked dishes from around the world it didn't matter. Will definitely come again.

I've used the place as a food take away, the butchers, the deli and the fish shop and eaten in once. My experience is that the staff don't understand service that one is definitely paying heaps more for. The fish shop kept me waiting five plus minutes and the butcher came over to serve me and then left with no attention. I eventually took the $14 fish and chips home, took one bite and threw it in the bin. The Balnarring butcher while being expensive is less so than this venue. The dining in meal was average but why would you have to pay heaps when there are so many places in the immediate area that offer views, pleasant staff and service.

We arrived at 11:30am and said no orders taken until 12! Breakfast menu finishes at 11am and lunch starts at 12! Weird....we could only order coffee and cake. At least there were plenty of tables to choose from and we were offered one in quiet area. Menu was large and some dishes a bit pricey for lunch. Food arrived promptly and was ample and tasty ...the chips were excellent! Not sure they have worked out who/what catering for.....deli, fish shop, butcher, bar, restaurant, take away. Very confusing. Nice interiors but need to separate the 'shops' from restaurant. Tables were all full when we departed.
