We booked this hotel pre cruise based on Trip Advisor reviews and were thrilled! Great service, great location and an easy walk to Midieval Town! Which was wonderful to walk around! We took advantage of the daily breakfast which was delicious and also ate in the hotel every nite. The food was incredibly great and very well presented!
A wonderful time and if we ever venture back that way this would be first on our list of places to be!

We only spent one night at Villa Tirreno, on our way from airport to our holiday destination further north. About 45 min drive north of Rome airport. Very easy to find as you come off the motorway.

We had a pleasant room for three, which was quite large. Aircondition and wifi worked well.

We enjoyed an afternoon and morning by the pool, and also tested the beach the second afternoon. As many Italian beaches it was quite organized with beach chairs and umbrellas for rent, beach bars etc.

Walked up the hill (10 min) to the old part of Tarquinia in the evening. Had a very good meal on one of the piazzas. Breakfast at hotel was ok, but not very exciting.

Would be very happy to return.

I cannot recommend this hotel, mainly because of its location.

The hotel is located in a not-so-nice area, right behind an abandoned factory.

You can chose between the view on a very busy street, the view onto the abandoned factory or that on the walls of the tall buildings nextdoor.

I agree with the traveler who commented that this location is that of a motel, not of a four stars hotel.

The pool is rather small (despite what it looks like in the pictures) and the noise from the street (from which it is separated only by a net) does not allow guests to enjoy it.

Also, it can get pretty crowded especially if guests of the restaurant (i.e. who do not stay at the hotel) are allowed to use it.

Everything looks new, the rooms are large, but our armchairs and the covers of our beds were stained.

Also, we were not able to leave the window of our room open at night, nor to enjoy the large terrace, because of the noise coming from the street.

Another negative note regards the service: whereas most of the personnel is friendly and professional (in particular that of the breakfast room and the restaurant), the head receptionist displayed a rather relaxed, at the border of unprofessional behavior: not only he did not wear a uniform or anything else which would have been appropriate for his role, but he was also hanging around all the time with his girlfriend! (mainly on several couches outside the hotel).

Would you like to bring your girlfriend with you at work sometimes? Your boss or the company rules don't allow it? Well if you work in this four stars hotel, you obviously can.

Aspects of this hotel (restaurant, size of the rooms, friendliness of the personnel at breakfast) would have deserved a better note.

But the location, the noise, the lack of privacy at the pool and some aspects of the service were too disappointing. We are not going to be guests of this hotel again.

My wife and I stayed at Hotel Villa Tirreno during the Opera Festival in July. The hotel was more than accommodating with an ample size room, great ristorante and lovely pool. More importantly, the staff (Clarisa, Misamo, Enzo, and others) helped us out navigating Tarquinia and getting transportation from Civitavecchia and to Fiumicino IAP. It is down the hill from the old city, but the bus stops is just outside of their entrance. Great Wifi and air conditioning, well worth the price.

Lovely hotel with very large and clean bedrooms . The staff are friendly and very accommodating. Nice pool and sun bed area which is lovely to relax by. The hotel has a beach club which they take you too if you'd prefer . They have a free shuttle service which leaves at 10 am and returns at 6pm , the beach club has a lovely beach with a very nice sister restaurant to the one one the hotel . Very please tell stay in this hotel just before our cruise holiday . Perfect way to relax and enjoy the beautiful Italy
