What a wonderful experience, not really what we expected…but way beyond. We had read the reviews and did not have enough information to make a fair opinion. At Cap au Leste the site is off-road; you will need to drive 7km on a dirt road. It is ok and worth it. On site, all the rooms are in different buildings. You will need to walk a lot our used your car to circulate from your room to the main building. The rooms are basics yes but very nice and comfortable; it is the feeling of having your little chalet in the country. We did not realise that there were no TV and Internet in the room. That was different for us, a real day off. We had the Suite room with a very private balcony and a view to die for. The biggest surprise was the main building. It is bigger than we expected, the balcony on the Fjord is large with a stunning view. You can take the spa option for the day. Nice pool and stunning sauna (view). Breakfast was worth taking.

We liked it so much that wanted to stay longer, unfortunately there were no availability. We will share our experience with family and friend. Cap au Leste will be our destination going back to Saguenay.

Room Tip: All rooms have a nice view, size and privacy will be the factors that you will consider for you sele...

Pourvoirie is located at the top of a beautifull Fjord with very nice views. The room we had was very basic and there was a horrible smell. Even with Windows open we couldn't get the smell out! There is no WiFi and No Tv in the rooms. We stayed in a Fjord view room. The breakfast is basic. In the evening you can only choose one menu and the food was not allways of good quality. The personnel was not friendly and looked stressed all the time. They are not helpfull !We thought we would be able to do different activities at the site but we were also very disappointed! They have only 3 good and one broken canoe you can use. You have to make a reservation to use them and you can use them only for one hour! The reservation list was full all the time!

Dear Client,

We thank you for staying at Cap au Leste.

We are sorry to hear your bad experience in the outfitting but we thank you for your comment because it allows us to readjust the points that you list and you shouldn't have met.

As for Wifi or TV, we chose to favor the "in the middle of nature" and limit access to electronic devices in order to enjoy the most of your stay and be totally out of the ordinary. We know that today it is an ubiquitous service in the hotel industry, that's why we have wifi and TV in the main lodge.

Concerning the restaurant, our chef offers a unique menu in the evenings as he cooks with fresh and local products, so the menu depends on the season and the arrival of the regional products as indicated on the menu or website.
However, if the customer does not want to eat what is on the menu because of an allergy or taste, we always offer an alternative at the customer's request.
All this information is given to you by the reception.

We invite you to send us an e-mail to contact@capauleste.com in order to know your dates of passage and your room so that we can make back this information to the concerned services and readjust some points.

We hope to see you again to show you the quality of our services. Indeed the outfitting is a place which has to be friendly and welcoming so that the travelers relax and enjoy the view of the Fjord and the Saguenay nature. It's essential for us to answer customer's needs, whether it concerns the quality of service, restaurant, reception, information or activities. We want our guests to leave with a pleasant memory of their stay.
So we hope to show you a service that matches our 4-star outfitter.

Have a good day !

we were there for an event involving a group of almost 40. Let just say that it's not a big group. Despite that:
1: we had to go upstairs every time we wanted a drink, no waiters came to us to offer us anything.
2: The time of the dinner was already settle in advance but when we arrived the reception room wasn't clean. It's a luck we got there before the guest to push them to do their jobs.
3: about 15 minutes before the time we agreed on to have the dinner serve I went to the administration just to see if everything was fine and they told me they didn't even know when to serve dinner
4: They charged more than the price we agreed on
5: Despite the fact the bill included service fees they just brought cups and coffee mugs, dumped it on the table and we had to serve coffee for our guest and they didn't bring enough mugs for everyone so we had to go upstairs and get more
6: they are not equiped to serve a big group. They got in the room with the Soup pot and poored soup to everyone as if we were a the Cantine. It took so long to serve everybody that table 1 was done eating before everybody got served
7: Not one waiter came during the whole night to ask if everything was fine
8: they didn't prepare any bill at the end of the night or came to us to be paid, they were just waiting:

Food was fine...the view is incredible. But terrible terrible organisation.

Also

Room Tip: it is far from the city, the view is great. The service is terrible

Dear Mister,

We think that an answer is necessary to your comment:

1) We agreed with your organizer that the first drink before the dinner was ordered upstairs but during the dinner, a waitress was available to take drink’s order in the room.
2) Yes, the time of the dinner was settle. Your organizer knew that the precedent group left at 4pm and the reception room won’t be clean for your arrival at 4pm but she was ok to wait for visiting the place or taking a drink. In fact, she told us that the group will arrive at 4:30pm and dinner at 6pm.
3) The manager told to your organizer 1 hour later that we were ready and were just waiting your signal to serve you
4) Yes, you’re right. There was an error with the price and we repaid the difference to your organizer who will repay all the group.
5) 3 waiters were available for your group and came several times. We apologize for the number of mug and the fact that we should serve you coffee.
6) We’re used to have group in Cap au Leste, we organised wedding and company’s party and everything is doing well normally. We’re sorry if you wait too much but it was a traditional English service that mean that waiter serve each plate in front of the client.
7) Like I said, 3 waiters were available. We are sorry if they didn’t ask if everything was fine.
8) We are used to wait your signal because we are not used to push or disturb the client with the bill during a party or family’s dinner

To conclude, we don’t understand this comment because your organizer told us that everything was perfect and thanked our supervisor on the phone.

We went to this hotel for our honeymoon. I never imagined to find it so charming with a rustic room and the Fjord view, hiking trails in the hotel, etc. We love the nature and we were so pleased to take our honeymoon in such a great place. The staff are so welcoming and the breakfast is delicious for a reasonable price.
Strongly recommended!

This is just what you expect of a Canadian vista! Superb views, nice walks, good food and friendly staff. Our room was very comfortable and it was very fitting not to have a television. We just watch the sun setting over the Saguenay and enjoy the peace. There is small bar area and a gamesroom. Coming out after our evening meal we came across a nice area with a wood fire and places to sit down and some marshmallows were left for the visitors to enjoy as well. A nice touch. Recommended!
