We were in the hostal part, which was very economical and find. The restaurant of the hotel is really good and with friendly service. The breakfast is in a big nice room, with a reasonable choice of pastries and savoury items.

We‘re received extremely indifferent. Small room - usually wouldn‘t mind - two separate beds, well wanted a queen or double bed. Sparsely furnished, cheapest beds, with an ordinary mattress and WITHOUT a mattress protection underneath the sheat!
Bathroom - old, not very clean, gair allover. Toilet still dirty from the guests before.
Can‘t recommend anyone to stay here at all. Such a pity, the monastery is a beautiful sight and the landscape around here is stunning. But in this town, they don‘t care about their guest, just want your money..

Room tip: stay somewhere else would be the best choice.

Santo Domingo de Silos Hotel is badly overrated. Hotel is a jigsaw puzzle of three buildings joined haphazardly to each other. Hotel reception desk not ever manned. Rooms badly in need of maintenance and upgrade. Not cleaned up to standards. Photos available at request.
Restaurant quality and service is more like a cafeteria rush service. Ordered bottle of Cava as aperitief: Menu listed brand was not available so another brought to table. Just left there for us to open and share! Four persons at table. As soon as one finished starter there came the main course whilst three persons were still having the starter course!
Swimming pool area is claustrophobic: closed in by the buildings around it and looking on to it.
This Hotel is not more than two star value.

Room tip: Avoid this hotel unless price is driving factor. For a good restaurant go to the Hotel Tres Coronas next door for great food and service.

There are not many hotel choices in this town but its location across the famous monastery makes this a very good option. The availability of parking at only 7 euros is also an asset.
The rooms are clean with comfortable beds and there is a restaurant on site. The service personnel is esparce at this time of the year. Perhaps the main drawback is that the controls of the heating system were disconnected and the limited breakfast comes at an extra price.
