The whole experience has been great starting from after booking online. Since it was our first time to Niseko and first time skiing, I emailed the hotel many many times over many months asking so many questions about activities, ski lessons, hire, pick up, shuttle bus, chartered bus, train to otaru etc etc etc. All the staff who had replied to my questions were patient and helpful. They sorted out the all the bookings for bus, ski lesson, snowmobiling and ski hire for us.

We were picked up by the shuttle bus and taken to the hotel after we were on the chartered bus for 3 hours from chitose airport. When we arrived at the hotel, Olivia checked us in and gave us all the info we need such as the hot bath, shuttle bus to town, breakfast etc. She's very helpful and nice.

As soon as we opened the door to our room, we were amazed by the view and then the size of the room. OMG, we were very impressed! Bed was comfy, shower was good, shared hot bath was good. Breakfast was good too, they serve asian and western style food for breakfast. All the staff there are very nice too. Such a great way to start the day!

We will definitely return to this hotel when we come back for skiing. LOVED IT! Thank you to all the staff who looked after us: drivers, receptionists, cleaners, chefs, restaurant wait staff. You are all amazing, keep up the good work :)

This is a stylish modern hotel set among the Trees area. It is also very close (5 minutes' driving distance from a place called Milk Kobo which sells the most delicious cream puffs and cheese tarts).

From the moment we walked through the main doors we were made to feel welcome. Nao was on duty at the reception area -- she spoke excellent English (having studied in the US before) and is definitely someone any hotel would be proud to have on their staff. Friendly, helpful and efficient, she made the check-in process smooth and pain-free.

This happened to be our wedding anniversary and we were upgraded to a 1 bedroom apartment in one of the lodges. The apartment was spacious and very clean. It consisted of a bedroom with a king bed, a living room with a sofa and good sized coffee table and a flat screen TV. Wifi free and fast. In room facilities included a Nespresso machine, mini fridge, kettle, microwave. Total size of apartment felt like 400 sq feet. Beds were comfortable and quality of linen good. The bathtub was of adequate size and deep enough to soak in. There are male and female onsens on site, but we did not use these.

Breakfast was not a huge spread, but was more than adequate. The chef prepared omelettes, bacon, salmon, beans, salad and miso soup for each of us, and there was a mini buffet spread of cereals, juices, milk and yoghurt, rice and pickles, toast and jams as well as coffee and tea.

It was a wonderful experience and if we come back to Niseko, this would definitely be our choice for accommodation!

I loved my stay at Nest at the Trees and wish it were for longer than two nights, even if I had to lug my luggage up to the second floor (there are no lifts for all hotel rooms). The hotel is stylish and minimalist in a cosy way, and the hotel room was very spacious with a huge bed, larger than usual standard Japanese hotel bathroom, and a clever modular sofa. The desk area is a little tight, but there’s lots of space for luggage as well as a little kitchenette area complete with microwave oven and cutleries! Plus the view of Mt Yotei is fantastic, as long as it’s not covered in clouds, that is. I also liked that the hotel provided a manual on how to operate the tv, air conditioning and so on - something not typically present in hotels.

The hotel also diligently followed up with me after making our reservations and prior to checking in, and when we emailed them about being unable to eat pork and related products for breakfast (we just wanted to know if there were options we could have), we actually realised that they made sure there was no pork, bacon, ham and etc whatsoever for their small but tasty breakfast buffet spread. The local Niseko rice served with pickles and miso mackerel was so good I would have happily eaten just that. Perhaps they were able to do this as it’s a fairly quiet season in Niseko end of June, but it was very much appreciated.

The only issue we really had was with the washer/dryer. The room the laundry facilities are in has inadequate ventilation so it took a long time for the clothes to dry. Maybe this is something they can look into so no one hogs the dryer for too long. The bottom of the shower curtain could also use a little scrub.

Admittedly, Nest at the Trees isn’t the most central of hotels if you’re looking to have restaurants and shops a few minutes walk away, but it sits in between Niseko Village and Hirafu and if you have your own transport, getting around should be no problem.

Stayed 3 nights in April during our snowboard trip in Niseko. Room is spacious and comfortable. Limited staff but they are all very helpful. The breakfast is good enough though not much choice compared with other hotel. Lastly, big thanks to the staff arrangement on my birthday with warm birthday card.
Will definitely come back for our next trip.
