I loved my stay at Nest at the Trees and wish it were for longer than two nights, even if I had to lug my luggage up to the second floor (there are no lifts for all hotel rooms). The hotel is stylish and minimalist in a cosy way, and the hotel room was very spacious with a huge bed, larger than usual standard Japanese hotel bathroom, and a clever modular sofa. The desk area is a little tight, but there’s lots of space for luggage as well as a little kitchenette area complete with microwave oven and cutleries! Plus the view of Mt Yotei is fantastic, as long as it’s not covered in clouds, that is. I also liked that the hotel provided a manual on how to operate the tv, air conditioning and so on - something not typically present in hotels.

The hotel also diligently followed up with me after making our reservations and prior to checking in, and when we emailed them about being unable to eat pork and related products for breakfast (we just wanted to know if there were options we could have), we actually realised that they made sure there was no pork, bacon, ham and etc whatsoever for their small but tasty breakfast buffet spread. The local Niseko rice served with pickles and miso mackerel was so good I would have happily eaten just that. Perhaps they were able to do this as it’s a fairly quiet season in Niseko end of June, but it was very much appreciated.

The only issue we really had was with the washer/dryer. The room the laundry facilities are in has inadequate ventilation so it took a long time for the clothes to dry. Maybe this is something they can look into so no one hogs the dryer for too long. The bottom of the shower curtain could also use a little scrub.

Admittedly, Nest at the Trees isn’t the most central of hotels if you’re looking to have restaurants and shops a few minutes walk away, but it sits in between Niseko Village and Hirafu and if you have your own transport, getting around should be no problem.

Stayed 3 nights in April during our snowboard trip in Niseko. Room is spacious and comfortable. Limited staff but they are all very helpful. The breakfast is good enough though not much choice compared with other hotel. Lastly, big thanks to the staff arrangement on my birthday with warm birthday card.
Will definitely come back for our next trip.

Stayed in the lodges over at The Nest (During Feb) with a big group of friends. We took two lodges (side by side) and was very impressed with the entire accommodation. The lodge was spacious and everything needed for a great ski holiday was included.
Recommend to rent a car (which can be sorted at the front desk)
Had a grand dinner at the restaurant in the main building. Food was great!
Highly recommend this place especially if you are travelling in a big group or kids

Nestled a three minute drive from the main Hirafu belt with fantastic views all round with great service. Enjoyed a great dinner that I was too busy wolfing down to take more photos. Highly recommended!

Stayed there three nights in February during our ski trip in Niseko. A big thank you to the staffs who made our stay so comfortable and memorable! :)
Though a little bit confused about the parking place at first (cox of the snow), staff confirmed that we could park our car just at the back. Front desk lady spoke excellent English and explained well of everything to us. Not sure how they arranged the rooms, luckily we were given one on the ground level. Also thank you to the staff who helped us with the luggages to our room since there were quite a lot of jackets and stuffs hanging here and there. I couldn’t have managed all those bags alone, while the guys were parking outside.
Our room was perfect - mountain view as anticipated yay!! Spacious for 3 adults with all our luggages. There was a separate bedroom plus one sofa bed in the living room. If you sleep on the sofa bed, you literally wake up to the view of Mt. Yotei! Coffee machine, bottled water, microwave etc. more than enough! Didn’t know how to use their tv but never mind we were occupied by many other things such as going to the public bath! The boys loved the bath very much and were disappointed when they couldn’t catch the 11pm closing time one night. One indoor and one outdoor bath were available. Really beware of the slippery floor when you head out to the outdoor one. Very special feeling out there! But don’t stay too long in hot water or else you’d feel dizzy. Laundry room was available in each block and was free to use.
Have noticed positive reviews about its restaurant Blackwood Grill so we tried it on the first night. We had a wagyu course meal which was so yummy!!! Not only the main, all the other dishes were equally delicious. And I like how cozy the restaurant was. Then we had our breakfasts there as well which was included in our reservation. A little bit different food each day and we felt really good before getting out to ski.
Ski equipment had to be put in the ski room near the main door. It was only like 5 min or so to drive to the popular Hirafu area.
We would also like to say sorry and thank you to one of the staff who helped us with parking. That night we returned a bit late from dinner and found no parking space left. When the staff heard about the situation, (as recalled by my brother) he immediately ran out to help us. He hurried to the spot and fell down on the slippery ground. We hope that he did not hurt himself badly.
We have enjoyed our stay so much and would love to return again!

Dear HKwal,

Thank you very much for taking the time to review your stay with us.
I am delighted that your and your family enjoyed your stay and liked the facilities at the hotel especially your apartment room and the wagu beef course at Black Wood Grill.

The property has ample parking space for guests who prefer to drive in snowy conditions. Our team is always happy to help if assistance is needed. I will pass on your kind words to all our staff.

Thank you and we hope to welcome you back again in the near future.

Kind Regards,
Joy
