Castle itself was a little disappointing, walked up two flights of very steep stairs to get a better view. Nothing much else to see for your 200 yen.
Grounds were good, very steep climb so moderate fitness required.
Castle walls impressive so worth a visit.

Came here in around spring, the spring breeze is very nice when we feel it on the top. Need some patient to go there because it takes a while and some steep stairs. But the view from the top is really amazing!

There isn't a lot to do in the castle, but the walls are great and the long walk to get to the castle are a lot of fun if you take the traditional and longer route to the keep. This is a little plain, but it is an original and means a lot for any castle experience. I don't think you will enjoy this site nearly as much if you take the new, short way up to the castle.

The surrounding town is also nice and typical of all good towns in Japan. Meaning you will find good food, friendly people and plenty of value.

The interior of the castle costs admission fee, yet it is very empty without many exhibits. I am not saying this because I do not understand the Japanese words, but because there really is limited information boards, so it is not worth the money.

The whole castle park itself is very good. We visited in mid-December and there were still red autumn leaves everywhere. The park should also have sakura since we spotted a few dots of tiny sakura flowers when we visited (not joking!). The park is mostly empty because the only facilities found are the castle, tourist centre, a museum (closed when we visited) and the trees.

Not so nice to visit on a rainy day because the paths can get muddy...

The main keep is original, but most of the other fortifications are gone. The keep is empty inside, but worth a quick look if you can spare 200 yen. The park surrounding the castle makes for a pleasant walk, and the views are great from the top.
