It is a must see attraction for Godfather fans6fanatics.
It was amazing to realise that this church and the buildings looked the same like in the movie (same conditions!).....
Lovely little church in a lovely little town. Nice museum next door too. Godfather fans will want to go for obvious reasons.
driving - Loved the twisty hairpin bends getting to it. For Satnav we used Forza d'Argro piazza della Triade. Brings you to the top of the hill with a café in front of you. Take a left, brings you to the car park (you need to pay)and you can see this church literally off the square. Didn't go in but a pretty location. Lots of cafe's about. Stay parked here as the other Godfather church is around the corner. Best to do this in a coach tour or to drive yourself.
I enjoyed this little church for the many ways it used to depict the Trinity. Fabric, marble, wood, oil paintings are all used. The walk to the church thru the old arch way, and the view are special extras.
Being a huge godfather fan this was a real treat to see where the movie was filmed. No wonder Frances Ford Coppola chose this location as it is rustic yet beauty all around.
We had our driver take us there which was arranged by our hotel and his knowledge of the area was do derail. Well worth the movie spent
