We spent an excellent week in September walking in the area and enjoying the breakfasts and evening meals. There is a 7kW charger in the car park, so those with electric cars don't need to go searching around for charge points - this is still quite a rare and useful thing, because the Lake District in general is still not too well served for places to charge. The fact that charging here is free is a real bonus.
A very warm atmosphere and friendly staff. Really enjoyed our stay.

We checked out this morning after a four night stay at this lovely hotel. We received a warm reception from Brett who’s hosting skills continued throughout. The food was excellent and compliments to the head chef, we feel Andy’s culinary skills along with his local knowledge of walks etc deserves a mention.
Thanks to Mike and the team for making us welcome and without hesitation we would return.

My wife and I stayed at Ravenstone Lodge back in early September for one night.

It is set in beautiful surroundings with lovely views and only a short walk from Bassenthwaite lake. Upon check in the owner took us to our room showing us the facilities on the way. The room was nice, clean and comfortable and we had a great nights sleep.

After we had unpacked we decided to take a walk down to the lake, the owner kindly provided us with directions and suggested we also look at the church. The directions were easy to follow, we visited the church which was beautiful and then enjoyed the views from the lake.

We enjoyed a drink in the conservatory before our meal. All the staff and the owners were very attentive and warm and welcoming, the restaurant manager was really good, he introduced himself and explained the menu to us before taking our order. The meal we had was absolutely superb with excellent service. The breakfast the next day was also very tasty.

We had a great break away and will certainly return again in the future.

Thank you!

Loved this stay and will be visiting the area again purely to return to Ravenstone Lodge and the relaxing stay that we’ve had. Close to Keswick for excellent shopping, wonderful surroundings too. Our room was very comfortable with a triple aspect and the most luxurious bath ever. The grounds are delightful with a nice walk down to the lake and the ancient St Bega”s church & cemetery which was fascinating both inside & out, such a special & peaceful place to visit. The food was delicious and the owner was lovely and took time to show us around and explain the area to us. The waiter, Brett was just fabulous and made our evenings extra special. After 3 cancelled holidays abroad since the start of covid this was a much needed break from work and Ravenstone has changed our mind on staying in the uk for a holiday in future as it was pure relaxation. The only down point was not staying for longer… Thank you Ravenstone Lodge you are just perfect hosts!

Room tip: Room 9 had a sumptuous bath and lovely views

This was our fourth visit to Ravenstone Lodge, which had been delayed for 18 months mainly due to Covid.. Re- booking was no problem, with Mike being as helpful as ever.

It was so pleasing to find the food, staff, and friendly feel was still there despite their very difficult time.

Well done Mike and the team, the addition of the hotel gin is a bonus.
