It is a few years since I have been on a flight across the Atlantic and I wasn’t looking forward to this one.
However, at every step of this outward journey I was delighted by the lack of queuing.
Checking in was quick and relaxed; security checks were thorough but well managed; boarding was remarkably speedy and service on the flight was frequent and efficient. Even going to the loo was relatively queue-free.
There was a good choice of in-flight entertainment and I managed to watch three films/movies. The food was good quality and portion sizes well judged. The miniature bottles of Bombay Sapphire gin and separate tonic were especially popular with our party!
It was especially pleasant to have some “normal” cabin crew and not the Stepford Wives with which have been the case with previous flights.
Disembarkation was also surprisingly stress-free and our luggage was waiting for us when we cleared the immigration checks
