“Premium Economy disappointment.”
Review of Vietnam Airlines

Reviewed 7 April 2024

Our flight to Vietnam (4 of us) and return on their Boeing 350. Seat configuration in premium economy is 2-4-2. Our flight to Vietnam we sat row 12 and 14 on the side. One seat in row 14 TV monitor didn't work and the seat was loose and wobbled. Hostess on our (right) side of the plane was quite rude and seemed like she hated her job. Leg room and seat tilt was great, much better than economy. Food was only mediocre. Plane cabin looks very tired with duct table holding the arm rests together, seat pockets ripped and in overall poor condition.
Flight home we all sat row 14 in the middle. Upon arrival at the airport for check in we were informed one of our seats the TV monitor controls was broken. The hostess on this flight was much nicer this time. Overall a disappointing flight experience in premium economy in planes that needs work to get them back up to the quality they once were and their meals require a quality update also.

Vietnam Airlines' service during our flights from Delhi to Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City to Delhi was disappointing. Our experience with the ground staff in New Delhi was particularly unsatisfactory, as we were assigned a seat where the toilet door would open towards us. This lack of attention to customer comfort is concerning and should be addressed by the airline. Additionally, our flight from Ho Chi Minh City to New Delhi on March 28th was significantly delayed, causing inconvenience.

The onboard meal quality was subpar, with below-average taste and stale food, leading to discomfort for some passengers. Overall, our experience with Vietnam Airlines left much to be desired; it felt more akin to a budget airline rather than a full-fledged carrier, lacking in customer care and service quality. Recommendations for improvement include better seat assignments, timeliness, and higher standards for onboard catering to enhance the overall passenger experience.

Despite it being the Dreamliner (which we have used extensively with other airlines), it was an uncomfortable flight in both directions (we returned to Heathrow from Saigon)
Issues with headrest entertainment plus the ipad they provided to replace that.
Food & drink a bit hit and miss although all the cabin crew were pleasant & attentive
Outbound & Return flights were both delayed slightly, unsure if flights were combined or genuine issues, this wasnt a massive deal however.
We used VA to fly from Hanoi to Siem Reap as well, shorter flight so less uncomfortable if nothing but for the 2 hours in seat, but again delayed and by nearly 2 hours this time which was a little annoying.
