I booked a flight for my mom and her plan changed. I was trying to call in to change the flight date, sound very simple right? You would think of.
I was on the call for 2 hours last night, first guy hand up after 30 minutes of stupid questions and not doing anything. After another 20 minutes of waiting another guy came and talked for 30 minutes again and then said he needs to escalate this to higher level and asked me to call back today. I called in again today about two hours ago, the first guy said he has only 15 minutes to talk and he hang up. the next guys without any notification sent me to Arabic center and the I'm still on the call after 1 hour and 45 minute. All to change one simple ticket. The worst customer service experience ever. I would never deal with them again.

I had a good experience with them in 2021 and spent the last 3 years telling everyone they were the best airline.

I take it back.

They damaged my suitcase on the way to Doha to Manchester and would not respond to my claim. I had to pull a heavy case missing wheels around the UK.

On the way back, they did not load any of my suitcases and didn’t notify me.

Also, they do t have a western vegetarian option for meals. I need to find a new favourite airline as this definitely isn’t it.

When buying the flight ticket, I forgot to include the luggage and had to pay for it at the airport. I ended up paying over EUR 700 for a 25-kg suitcase on a round-trip Turkey-Russia. The luggage cost me more than the flight ticket itself.

And this is not all. I learnt that Turkish Airlines discriminates certain routes by charging higher fees. On my 3-hour flight from Nice (France) to Istanbul they charged me EUR 4 per kg of excess luggage. On my 4-hour flight from Istanbul to St. Petersburg (Russia) they charged me EUR 16 per kg.

Needless to say, there was also a very noticeable difference in the planes: a much better one on the route to France.

It took me an hour at Istanbul airport to process the payment for the suitcase. Luckly, I arrived 2.5 hours in advance – just enough to catch the flight.

Turkish Airlines has the most terrible website and phone app, which certainly needs improvement. Even setting a password for it is like solving a math quiz: use only numbers, but not consecutive numbers, etc. The words aren’t good enough anymore?

I’m not flying with Turkish Airlines again and, frankly, have lost any desire to visit Turkey. Such mentality just disgusts me. I wrote to the customer service of Turkish Airlines and they replied that they did everything right, it’s OK for them to charge outrageous fees.

I think it will be cheaper to travel to Middle East and Europe, where the hospitality business is not focused on robbing tourists.

This airline will take your money if you make any changes. I changed my return date and ended up paying not only a change fee of $600 but also had to repay for seats and services to and from America. I get the date change but all my seats and baggage fees nonrefundable and paying another $500 to get them back. Absurd

We had 4 routes. CPH- IST, IST - BKK, BKK-IST, IST- CPH. We made mistake with date on IST-CPH and had to pay for changing that and ordered and paid for new seats.
We had 1 stay in IST on way out and 2 on way home (4 seperate routes in one booking)

TK just cancelled our reservations on 3 other routes also although they were completely unchanged.

We had to buy and pay once again. Contacting TK was a Big dissapointment - no understand of the problem at all.

Must nention that the service onboard is very satisfying. Good service and smoking staff.
