We traveled to Lisbon from Miami for a first time visit to Portugal. Very good price and we upgraded to economy plus for additional space. Layout was 2-5-2 so we had seats to ourselves. We liked the flight over, and we got caught with cancelled flights because of weather (hurricane) on the way back so we diverted to Washington DC to visit relatives while weather in Florida cleared up. We did spend and extra night in Lisbon and TAP paid for our hotel and vouchers for food in hotel and airport so can't complain about that. The problem was my suitcase did not show up in DC. Filled out a form for information about the suitcase and where to ship it when found. I received a call from Miami 3 days later that they had my suitcase and would be shipping it to me the next day. I won't go into how much time I spent after that trying to get my suitcase but I finally received it 2 weeks later, with major damage including pockets completely ripped off. The suitcase was only used 2 times before this trip. It took several weeks to agree on compensation (they wanted purchase receipts) for everything claimed. So now it is a month later and have still not received a dime even though I claimed than $200 since I did not keep receipts on clothes that were lost.
