We flew on flight 202 from Newark to Florence, connecting through Lisbon. We took this airline principally for the low cost fare. They just opened the Florence route and were, it appeared, running a special. The check was fine, gate/loading - disorganized, flight great, food fantastic, plane crew up there as some of the best I’ve experienced in over 30 years of travel. But.....here’s the rub. The flight was delayed leaving Newark and arrived in Lisbon at 6:15 for a 7:05 connection, about 45 Min late. 8 passengers in First Class, us included, got to the gate for the connecting flight, 15 minutes before departure, and they would not let us on - claiming “the gate was closed”. If this is how an airline treats first class customers I can imagine how they treat everyone else. Buyer beware. The customer service once we left the plane was terrible. We had to talk with an agent, after a 20 Min wait. She was little to no help and appeared to be having a bad day. Our prize was a 25 euro voucher for crappy airport food. You get what you pay for!
