Loved everything about the airline hostess. Flight was a little delayed. No movies on plane, boring. Did not like the fact we had to bused to a smaller unused terminal in Toronto. No proper announcement or instruction in Punta cana. Online checkin in Toronto does not work but worked in DR. Food really sucks on the plane. Duty free prices on the plane not so good.

Start off in YVR, no gate ... get bused to some remote location on the airport and board via a ramp ... saving money by doing this Sunwing?

On the aircraft ... one of the only 3 lavatories wasn't working, so the whole flight there was a dozen person lineup in the isles front and back for the 2 usable ones ... felt bad for the folks that had paid the bigger bucks for Elite status only to have someone standing in the isle bumping into them the whole flight. Cabin attendants getting crabby cause there are people in their way in the isle all the time, pretty lame Sunwing.

Oh and I've never been on a modern 737 that didn't have a place to pug in a usb device, or didn't have individual entertainment centers.

Also never seen so many seats on a 737 ... pretty cramped for a 6' guy.

Constant harassment to get another buck out of you ... charity, selling food, duty free, blankets, jewelry? ... really, jewelry? I go on a flight to Ixtapa and you think I'm going to buy jewelry on the plane? Wow ...

Breathe deep and bear it ... only 5.5 hours ...

We have used Sunwing on many occasions, this one might of been once in a lifetime experience. We visited La Romana in the Dominican with our friends. There were 8 of us but only 7 of us received our luggage. Our female friend had paid for the elite package ( as did we all) but the luggage came out later or last or not at all.
It gets worse our Sunwing representative at the Hilton La Romana was the worst we have ever encountered. The staff from Toronto were helpful but we are not in Toronto so we got the luggage back in 3 days.

My son got sick 3 days into our vacation, we asked for the hotels doctor to visit in the room where he found my boy had a throat infection and needed antibiotics. He ordered for him to take 3 days of antibiotics 2 doses a day which is an old dosage to begin with. My son didn’t have a throat infection but instead he had HFMD which is ; hand foot mouth disease. He had a fever almost all trip , we thought maybe he was teething. On the second last day he got a rash all over his face, hands , and had a really bad throat sores. When we landed back in Canada we immediately took him to the doctors where they discovered he had HFMD . Not knowing what he had has caused him to infect other family members and we are still suffering from sunwing and the hotels errors. I expected a vacation to relax and reset for the year but now are in a worse situation then ever. I’m missing work and it’s really affecting us in many different ways. We need the kids pool to be looked at as we think thats where he contacted the virus.

Left from Victoria, BC direct to Ixtapa on a Sunwing all inclusive holiday. Other than the crew's difficulty with the English language, wasn't too bad. The return flight, however, was ridiculous. Despite having paid for emergency exit row seats, one had been given away to a passenger who checked in 5 minutes before we did. No recourse at the counter, the Viva employee saying"the system" wouldn't allow her to change it, and we must deal with Sunwing when we're back in Canada. Been home 6 days, and not a word yet from Sunwing.
