“Not buy business select”
Review of Southwest Airlines

Reviewed 3 weeks ago

It is a waste of money to buy business select. All you need to do is buy the cheapest ticket, show up in a wheelchair for better seats and board first.

I am not spending more and getting the worst again.

I was finally able to schedule a day trip to Oahu to spend time with a friend. I was not able to travel anywhere for a couple of years due to priorities (work, college, family, etc.). I decided that I would try out Southwest Airlines because the airfare was cheap.

The day of the trip, I got no notification that my flight was delayed until I got to the gate. The lady who was at Gate 9 gave me sass about it and told me to go to Gate 11 to change my flight to 9:30 rather than stay until 10 to fly out. Lady at the counter of Gate 11 told me that there were no such flights at 9:30 and by catching the 10:00 flight I would get there by 11:00.

I looked up Hawaiian Airlines and not only they had much earlier flights to Oahu, but I could book and be on Oahu just a half hour difference from the original flight from Southwest.

I am grateful that I was able to get a full refund from Southwest, however, I will not be using them for travel. Although I can complain about what I went through, it was not as bad as the lady who was in front of me trying to rearrange her flights as she not only missed the event she needed to go to on Oahu, but they could not accommodate an earlier flight out to Hilo, Hawaii which would have been her next point of travel. She would have to still go to Oahu and wait for a later flight to Hilo.

Southwest Airlines, you left a very bad impression on me. I do not care if I got a lifetime airline travel for free, I will not be using you. Will not recommend to anyone.

I would like to commend 2 women at Southwest airlines who work in Colorado Springs. Kat Scott and Lisamarie Andrews helped my son and his family when they had a medical emergency at the airport. They assisted them in getting an ambulance, retrieving their bags and helping with all the details of missing their flight. Their kindness and professionalism was greatly appreciated. Thank you Kat and Lisamarie.

I am a student flying to Indianapolis for the Bands Of America National Competition. I am currently on the flight waiting to depart to Indiana. On our first flight the staff was absolutely incredible. Very friendly, very careful with drinks/snacks ect. On our 2nd flight a worker with short blonde hair brought on 4 small bags and 1 big one full of coats and other clothing items. She proceeded to force the other of my band trip to move their luggage and instead of squeezing it all into 1 overhead bin (there was more than enough room for her to do so) she required the back 2 overhead bins to find somewhere else to put there luggage. Whatever, it was annoying. I then went to the front of the plane to use the restroom as the line for the one in the back was very long. As I'm waiting for my turn and standing out of the way of the aisle, she approaches the front of the plane, shoots me a dirty look and proceeds to trash talk the group in the back to the up front worker. Props to the flight attendant for shutting her down and basically explaining that it wasn't super professional to complain about a group of kids on the job. We ended up in a layover and I am now sitting on the plane waiting for departure. On the way onto the plane we were greeted by a man with a smile, My mother and I walked to the open seats and put our luggage in the exact same way it was in during our last flight (same type of plane) an older male with glasses proceeds to take my bag from me and lecture me and my mom about how, "we might as well have just checked our bags in because they would be to big to lay like that." This airline is 24In x 16in x 10in. Both of our bags were 22x 14x 10. There for more than small enough for Southwest Airlines overhead bin. He then proceeds to tell another passenger how "our bin was full because our bags are too big." Our bin currently has plenty of room for at least another bag similar. I get that working for an airline is hard but ultimately yelling at passengers, complaining to your coworkers in front of passengers and snatching bags away isn't a way of handling it.

What a rude disrespectful staff. Not to mention unkempt appearance !!.

The one flight attendant was shockingly rude to me. My husband got up to use the restroom. He had an aisle seat and I a middle seat. We usually try to get up, one first then the other so he doesn't have to get up to let me back in once he has his electronics up and running. This usually works well for us...Not this time! When I saw him coming back I got up and headed to the restroom, we were seated about 3 rows back and paid for premium seats. No one in front of us was getting up, so I thought all was good. That was until one of the flight attendants in the galley ran into the restroom in front of me. I understand this can happen, what I can't understand is the unmitigated rudeness ! The other flight attendant told me "you have to go back to your seat"

They also were so stingy with their meager snacks and not attentive to the passengers at all.
When we were getting ready to land I took my purse off the floor, a very small
nylon purse to get my nose spray my doctor said I had to use before landing for my ear problems. She was on me again !! Put that purse on the floor she yelled.
This is a horrid airline with the worst staff we have ever encountered. We fly all over the world. They mention you cannot congregate in the aisles, what they haven't figured out is how to let people wait for the restroom.

I see another reviewer has complained about this. Southwest needs to address this, but only if they care about their passengers. I don't think they do.
