“Mugged & Hustled in Vegas”
Review of Southwest Airlines

Reviewed 6 October 2024

I booked an all inclusive package to the Venetian Hotel via Southwest Airlines. What a mistake. Upon arrival I learned that there was a daily $50.00 "Resort Fee" (that turned out to be $56.69 a day) that was never previously mentioned. Just how I want to start a "get away", getting mugged before I even get to my room. Everything was over priced at the Venetian and lounge chairs were 55.00 a day! It felt like being on a cruise...where "the company" owns everything and you cannot get away from them. The music at many of the pools was blaring rap electronic noise. And Southwest contracted with Hill Shuttle Services which I included. This was a mistake...at 30.00 each way it was more expensive and much slower than an Uber or Lyft.

Now I most certainly do not expect anything to be first class with Southwest. But you would think they would be concerned with how the vendors they contract with represent them. The Venetian acted like they "neva met da guy". And the shuttle service was not worth it. Never again will I book anything with Southwest other than short flights.

This airline is the worst
I missed a connection
Airline canceled my return flight and did not contact me.
Had insurance still no help or reemburisment.
Cost me 1207 to get tickets on another flight out of Reno. Put me getting home 16 hours later. Cost me work.
This airline is sorry.
Will tell everyone

Flew from Austin, Texas to Denver Colorado and then on the return from our trip took a flight from Colorado Springs back to Austin. SW staff was very professional. Flights were on time. No complaints.

Wow is this airline unprofessional! The gate agents speak another language to one another. They muster the passengers in their ridiculous boarding ritual 15 minutes before they're ready to actually board them and force them to stand there.

Once onboard, they force you to sit where they want you to. The flight attendant actually closed the overhead bin as I was trying to hoist my suitcase up there, forcing me to move further to the back. A simple request would have done the trick but they treat you like children while they act like everything is a big joke.

I find it hard to believe that they can legally make a mockery of the safety instructions but they do. The lady spoke them like a cattle auctioneer. It was totally unintelligible then she bragged, "32 years, y'all! Been doin' it that long!"

The pilot made a few announcements during the flight, but since he didn't have the volume up and no one on the crew cared enough to tell him, you couldn't understand anything he said. After we landed and the engine noise died down the pilot made one more announcement. He thanked us for flying Southwest and told us it other choices would have been poor if we hadn't.

Honestly, I like a good joke as much as the next person but this is ridiculous. I had three Southwest flights on this trip and the other two were fine. This flight seemed so uninviting, tense, and over the top. You wonder how unprofessional there other teams are if they let this go on with this flight 1945 6:00PM October 1, 2024.

I tried to complain but it's nearly impossible. Finally I found a portal where they limit what you can speak about. I got an email response with a $50 gift certificate I'll never use because I'll never fly Southwest again. I replied to the email with a more detailed description but it was a no reply email address and I just got a notice that I couldn't reply to it.

Do yourself a favor. Fly with another airline.

I paid for a Business select ticket to get an A boarding position which is about $100 more than the cheapest flight. Once the 10 wheelchairs were boarded, another group of about 15-20 individuals who mysteriously had “pre-board” on their ticket boarded the flight perfectly capable of walking down the jet bridge. A few clearly needed extra time as they were elderly or had bad joints. But most were young and fit. There were about 25-30 people who boarded before my A1 position that I paid for. I asked the gate agent how can I get pre-board on my ticket and he said I needed a wheelchair. So I looked and saw the rest of the pre board without a wheelchair and said I was confused by this large group without a wheelchair. I paid for the A boarding position because I get anxious about having a good seat- so I guess instead of paying I should just book the cheapest ticket and walk up to customer service and say I have boarding anxiety to get pre-board on my stamped on my boarding pass. BTW there was a little girl in a wheelchair with a boot on her foot who brought her 4 other family members to help her board. Shouldn’t she only be allowed to bring 1 family member to help?
