“GOOD FLIGHTS BUT DELAYED”
Review of Thomas Cook Airlines (UK)

Reviewed 31 May 2018

I have to admit i like flying with Thomas Cook as I believe they are one of the best but on this occasion we were delayed on our home journey. Very good flight out and when we eventually took off three and a half hours late home it was a good flight. Our original flight had been changed from Thomas Cook to Avion Express and to be honest I didn't notice much difference but the uncertainty does not bode well when you are informed of this change a few weeks before your holiday. The staff were no different as far as I am aware and were as helpful as can be. I do think we could have had more updated information as we were actually sat on the aircraft, not in the airport lounge. To give this company its credit, it duly paid out compensation in line with what we were entitled and it was settled within a couple of days of my request. Will use again hoping for no delays next time.

We decided to fly direct with this airline as it was cheaper to book this direct flight in premier class instead of flying with KLM via Amsterdam.
The airline crew and cabin crew were friendly and very helpful.
The plane was nice and clean, we received some free travel items such as ear plugs, earphones, toothbrush and toothpaste and flight socks.
As it was premier class we had more leg room and free drinks.
The meals were OK which were the usual chicken or beef.
We were impressed with the service and will be using them on our next flight in July.

This is the second time I have flown with Thomas Cook and it will be the last time. This is the worst Airline I have ever travelled with. I paid for pre booked seats and extra leg room in 2017 and 2018. On each flight I received neither I was not given the seats I had paid for. On my return to UK I complained to Thomas Cook who quickly reimbursed me. However I did not pay for seats to be reimbursed on my return. Poor cabin crew service. You have been warned

A lovely smooth flight with very friendly staff who served food and drink and nothing was a problem to them if you wanted anything. On flight there is a television to watch with films for the grown ups then cartoons for the younger ones which makes it seems the time aboard is shorter than it is,also the check in with your baggage is fast, smooth and friendly there is nothing i can say which is bad about this airline

So i checked the web the morning i was due to leave New York to find my flight has been cancelled. So i called Thomas Cook Operations who told me they never cancel flights and it wasn't showing on their system, so that i should continue to go to the air port later that afternoon. Arriving at the airport, surprise my flights cancelled !! no reason why the staff there cant tell us why but they will put us up in a hotel for the night and fly us out on next available flight, the staff said we should of had an email, almost no one had. They split us up and half the flight were going to go home the next night from JFK and the other lucky half(including me and my wife) would have to take a bus to Boston which takes 4 hours. So we don't make a fuss as the staff are useless and clearly have no clue whats going on. The next morning we get to the airport at 9.30 as instructed to wait for another 2 hours as the buses are late because they have gone to the wrong place and then cannot find terminal 4 !! we aren't given any food or water for the 4 hour trip we are about to make, yet again the staff at Thomas Cook don't know whats going on its like a circus. Fast forward 4 hours later and having seen the countryside a little. We just make it to go through check in. Check in opened at 2.30 and we got there at about 4, we all rushed through as quick as we can do, go to the toilet and all go straight onto the plane. Great we are on our way!! the air crew were all very nice, the best thing about the flight really. On the way out to JFK we had our own TV's with movies etc and a meal prepared by celebrity chef James Martin. On the way home we all had to watch drop down TV's with no choice of film, that you could only hear in one ear, the meal was shocking, a piece of poor old chicken with a spoonful of sauce and about six vegetables, i didn't bother with mine. The flight was unconfutable as it was on the way out as I'm over six feet tall. The pilot was excellent and made a smooth landing with was a relief. When we got off we were told someone would meet us with a letter of how to complain or claim back through our own insurance LOL what a joke. Well the lady had about 6 letters to give 60 people, she said someone was coming and when it became obvious no one was coming she went and hid in an office. At this point we were so tired we thought sod it and left, without the letter...and to top it all..it was our Wedding Anniversary, so thanks Thomas Cook for an anniversary we'll never forget.
