93 helpful votes If Pamiers seems a little small, you could take the train into the big city of Toulouse. That takes about an hour though.
As,an alternative to Cubsur's sugestion, you could go the otherway and visit Foix where there is a very dramatic looking castle.
Thanks for your replies. Will definitely look into the website. Will try to focus in Pamiers only, as last weekend we visited Carcassonne where the castle is also very impressive. Toulouse is our next stop.
