Hello fellow travellers we will be visiting Garda town mid September and will be looking at getting there from Bergamo train Station. We will be travelling on a Monday is there a direct train from Bergamo to Peschiera del Garda, from there are there regular buses to Garda or what would the approximate fare be for 2 people

There are direct trains only at 0800 and 1600. For where to change trains at other times, click the little 'i' for Information in a circle by Changes for your chosen departure, as this differs by departure time.
There is also one direct train at 05.43 from Trenitalia's private competitor https://www.trenitalia.com/en.html

199 helpful votes Grazie for all your replies, no the bus times dont match our flight arrival. Any indications of approximate taxi fare from Pescheira Del Garda to Garda its 28km approx to our hotel from the train station just in case the buses are not frequent
Most trains from Bergamo seem to stop in Treviglio a 6 minute wait for an onward train to Pescheira Del Garda - is Treviglio a quiet station - if we missed the connection I presume we can use our tickets on the next hourly train. This seems to be the most direct route from Bergamo

Thanks for your reply - so when selecting the trains from Bergamo what do I put in as the final destination or is it just the later trains that go via Brescia. I selected one around 11.20 am as dont want to arrive too late and it goes via Treviglio. I was checking out buses from Pescheria Del Garda train station to Garda town and it seems to take an hour to travel 23km is this because there is a lot of stops along the way. At this stage I am beginning to feel a car could be the quickest and most direct option. Is it an easy enough drive as it will be the end of September so not too busy we hope. thanks in advance

If leaving from the airport, the fastest option is usually to get a direct non-stop bus along the autostrada to Brescia https://autostradale.it/Images/Linee/Orari/BresciaAutostazione-OrioalSerio.pdf
From the arrival bus station in Brescia, walk down to Brescia train station, visible below the bus station but certainly not adjacent, and take a train.
https://www.viamichelin.com suggests that it only takes 1h 15 by car to drive from the airport to Garda town, and most of the way is along a fast toll motorway.

199 helpful votes Try splitting the journey i.e. search Bergamo to Brescia first, then Brescia to Peschiera.
You have hourly service to Brescia (dep. 6 minutes after the hour), a comfortable connection in Brescia (30 minutes), hence hourly service to Peschiera (dep. 33 mins after the hour).
Thanks for the replies much appreciated. The reason I asked from the train station is our flight arrives in late and we wont make any buses that evening so staying our fist night in Bergamo near the train station Our final destination is Garda Town
