Thinking of coming to Cincinnati with my daughter and some of her friends in mid December to celebrate her 16th birthday. Where would be a cool/fun and reasonable place to eat dinner?? We are also looking for a few fun activities.

This exhibit (below) runs through mid-Jan at the CincinnatiArtMuseum is worth consideration. I saw it last weekend and was very impressed. The museum is free and the exhibit is $16 for adults / $8 for those 17 and under.

Probably best to do some research here or in Yelp for restaurants in the Over-the-Rhein district and check back with questions. What day(s) of the week will you be visiting? How many do you anticipate in your party? . . .

Fountain Square with its temporary Christmas shops and its outdoor ice rink. You could then take the "survivors" a couple blocks south to the Banks entertainment district (along the river) for a bite to eat at one of the riverview restaurants. Then before you leave hit the Ferris Wheel and the Carousel (if open).

Another option is Museum Center in the recently refurbished Union Terminal. This unique Art Deco building is listed on the NRHPs and houses several museums. Its current feature is Apollo 11 exhibit plus all the Christmas stuff including the model train display and city diorama.

Krohn Conservatory has their Christmas poinsettia and Christmas display going then too.

Fountain Square is also the Heart of the City...enjoy the ice rink plus all the surrounding shops.

Review the website for the Taft Theater and the Aronoff for any shows they may be offered for that period.

They'll love going to the Observation Deck of the Carew Tower for a view of the city.

Finally, click on the TTD icon above for the complete TA list for the city for additional venues...including riding the Anderson Ferry. Review www.cincinnatiusa.com, our primary tourism site, for more also.

Enjoy!!

As A Follow-up to above:

you'll want to review the websites for the Taft, Aronoff and Music Hall for the period you will be in town - all three are offering special shows for the holidays that would make a Sweet 16 awesome. Page 20 of the current OHIO MAGAZINE has a full listing.

The Apollo 11 exhibit at Museum Center has many objects from the lunar mission including the command capsule, I believe. Review that website as well. That would be a unique experience for them to see that.

You'll want to take them to the United Dairy Farmers or Graeter's for the birthday ice cream.

Enjoy!!
