We don't have a Bourbon Street (New Orleans) or a 6th Avenue (Austin) or a Beale Street (Memphis) or the like here in Seattle. But there are areas where there are concentrations of bars, and occasionally clubs, including:
Capitol Hill - clubs & bars (and restaurants) in good numbers
Fremont - particularly the east end (around Stone Way - and also Frelard)
Ballard - around Ballard Avenue
Wallingford - 45th Ave around the SeaMonster bar
But mostly - in my book anyway - it's downtown Seattle, with a nice concentration of dive and iconic pubs near Pike Place (Zig Zag, JarrBar, Radiator Whiskey (great late night food too), The Nest (upscale), Kells, Owl & Thistle, the Diller Room (love it) - all the way down to the bars in Pioneer Square (The Pharmacy is a favorite).
Little clue re: clubs - other than if we're out after 1a - we hear the thumping from a number of buildings in Pioneer Square, along 1st and 4th Avenues, and most definitely in Cap Hill. I'll leave it to the younger folk to ID the clubs (and more bars).
