more expensive the pass or buying tickets?

Hello we are a couple with a 2 years old child.

We will be going from Osaka to Takayama to Shirakawa-go to Kanazawa to Kyoto. I wanted to know if it is more convinient to buy the Takayama-Hokuriku Area Tourist Pass or just buy the tickets as we go? We are going to do it in 5 days and I see that the cost of the pass is 14,000Yen.

We will be going to Nagoya with Shinkansen so the trip actually starts from Nagoya I guess.

Thanks to who can help (I have tried to figure out the cost myself but it is not always so obvious if you do not understand Japanese).

You can find fares and schedules at www.hyperdia.com. If you see a box with a choice of reserved seat or unreserved seat, be sure to pick the one you want. The ticket price will be shown as "Total." (The "Fare" and "Seat Fee" are mandatory components of the "Total.")
