some of my foreigner friends told me that too but i feel that it is okay, but when i go to some countries, i felt that their escalator is too slow.

so i guess i am too used to fast escalator here? haha

saw some tv shows they are talking about the fast speed of escalator in Singpaore too.

I find it fine. Try going to a busy station during rush hour and you will understand why.

yeah, that’s what i noticed too

it’s a tad faster to think that every train station here in japan is busy as well

but the comparisons of escalators is really different.

i guess,i’m used to the slow ones lol!!

Hi,

Yes, the escalators at mrt stations are a tad faster although generally the younger riders would be ok with it. My parents used to have problems getting on/off the escalators. They’d rather take the elevators than the escalators.

Who needs to go to a theme park after riding the escalators at the MRT stations :) I guess there are so many people using the public transport system, they need a quick & easy way to move masses of people in & out.

I noticed it too, quite weird.

Also noticed that the trains on the line between the airport & the city centre, stopped too early at every station & then slowly had to move forward to allow the doors to match up with the gate on the platform

@jaynewcastle11 (#7) yes hahaha the MRT trains stopping a little short of the platform doors are a slightly more common sight during this period of time on the East-West Line (the line you are referring to) because train signalling systems are currently in the midst of being upgraded on the East West Line!

Anyway by 2021, the escalators at stations along the North-South And East-West Lines will operate at slower speed during non-peak hours.
