Depending on family probably cheaper and a lot faster to get a taxi. Maybe $10-11.

Universal is on Sentosa and the MRT doesnt go over there. The closest the MRT takes you is Harbourfront MRt under Vivocity Mall, from where you can walk over to Sentosa for free and then to USS in 20mins or pay for the monorail to the station next to Universal for 4SGD a head.

Orchard mrt station is nearest to Orchard Hotel and that is about 5-7 minutes walk away. That is the NS Line (red line) and it does not go to Harbourfront. You need to transfer to the NE line (Purple line ) at Dhoby Ghout to get to Harbourfront. At Harbourfront you can walk to Sentosa and USS via the Broadwalk or take the Sentosa Express at $4/pax to USS. This would be the most expensive way to get to USS.

A taxi from your hotel to USS will cost you less than $10, while a bus (service 123 taken from Delphi Orchard) will cost about $1.50 per person.

It would be better to take a taxi for a group of 4. Bus 123 is also ok as you can see the sights along the way but will take longer.
