Yes. Public transport in HK is very easy to use. Do a little pre-planning and downoad a map of the Metro just to make life a little easier.

Do watch for rogue taxi drivers trying to overcharge picking up passengers from Lan Kwai Fong late at night, Canton Road shopping area, and Peak Tram Terminus. Taxi drivers must use the meter. Surcharges can only be added for luggage, paid tunnels and bridges.

NO worry. the road & public transport signs in English aswell as Chinese
we have been to h.k. for our holidays for the last 9 years it is very safe even at night, you will notice that shops don,t open early about 11.00 am and stay open very late rail service is fool proof trains run on time there octopus card is better than our mykey.As always it pays to do a little home work on were you are going to lots of night life i think you will enjoy your stay.
