chaing mai dentist???

Hello, I have been checking out dental clinics in Chaing mai, Dental4 U and Elite smile clinic, while I was looking at both websites and looking at their dentists ( to see what qualifications they had ) I noticed that they had the same list of dentists for both dental clinics, which I thought was really strange,........ I was thinking of going to Dental4U but this has but me off, Is this something that should worry me??

Quite a few medical and dental doctors work multiple jobs, a few days a week at the hospital, a few days a week at clinics. So seeing the same dentists on multiple lists wouldn't be surprising, especially if they are specialists like Periodontists or Orthopedic Surgeons.

You might try searching the thaivisa.com Chiang Mai forum for dentist posts. The posters there are primarily expat residents as opposed to tourists like here at TA.

My husband has had extensive work done at Elite Dentists over the last 3 years each June when we have visited and they are very good. He's had 3 different dentists work on him over that time and all have been great, some of them work in America for part of the year too. They have very up to date equipment and hygiene is top notch. No hesitation in recommending them.

Hi

I have been going to dental for you for a couple of years now, nothing major

Other than getting a wisdom tooth out and a couple fillings. I have found them very good.

I have a friend here in Australia , who required major work at a major cost.He has just returned from having this work done by Dental4 you. I have only spoken to him breifly and he was more than happy with them, he still requires more work and will return to have it done.So he will give me a full report this week when we catch up.

They are very good and you can be confident in thier work.

Me and my friend just had our dental checkup and cleaning at Chiangmai Dental Clinic. Dr Laddawan, the partner/owner, spent TEN minutes on each of us: including consultation, check-up and cleaning/scaling.

The fee came to 900 bht per person, including 100 bht for one toothbrush!!!

More expensive than Bangkok, Singapore/Hong KOng, in terms of depth and level of service. The whole procedure was rushed, superficial and basic. And Dr Laddawan pointed out the obvious: cracked teeth and receding gum...suggesting fillings work.

This old-style clinic (from the decor, equipment and facilities, which should be 5-10 years old) stated in its website that cleaning/checkup fees are from 600-1200bht. Shocked to know even a 10-min consultation/cleaning caused this much.

We thought its off-city centre location should be cheaper but obviously more than those modern, sophisticated ones such as Grace Dental, Dental for U++

I think McCormick Hospital's dental clinic is very good. I lost a filling and walked in there just today at 1:15 in the afternoon was in the chair at 1:30 had a thorough cleaning and temporary filling put in for just 695 Baht (23 USD). Will return for a root canal procedure in the coming weeks! An hour and a half of having my mouth invaded for less than 30 bucks! Hard to beat if you ask me and they are very professional.

Did you go back to get a root canal done? I need a crown and root canal for my molar and wonder if they are cheaper than the U.S. Can you tell me your experience and the cost? Thanks.

My husband was recommended to go to Elite Smile by some Thai friends of ours who live here. He was quoted around $1500 for teeth whitening, a root canal, a cap, a bunch of fillings and just general cleaning. So far he's only had the whitening done ($300), but very happy with the results.

Good luck!
