July Honeymoon - Places to Stay

Hi everyone!

My fiancee and I are planning our honeymoon to Hawaii this summer and are looking to do 5 nights in Maui and 6 nights in Kauai. I was looking for some advice on places to stay and any personal experience would be much appreciated!

So, we've narrowed our search to Puu Poa, HBR, and Pali Ke Kua. Any overall deal makers/breakers with any of them that puts one way above or one totally out? Budget around $375/night. We really want good Bali Hai views from the lanai.

Here are a few particular units that have us intrigued; let me know thoughts/experience with any!

Puu Poa 212: VRBO Listing #22021 puupoa212.com

Pali Ke Kua 101: VRBO Listing #281851 (Is there enough privacy on a lower unit here?)

HBR: Unfortunately 4222 seems to be booked for our time. Any other suggestions with Bali Hai views?

Thanks all in advance!

I can help with HBR and also I would not do a lower floor at Pali Ke Kua unless you like to hear elephants above you.

Can you give me your dates you want to be on the North Shore?

You have a nice budget and by renting a one bedroom you will save money. All Puu Poa units are two bedrooms. I don't know 212 so can't comment except from checking out the pictures, but its a bit dated IMO and has the atrium I am not crazy about.

Now for HBR. This one is open towards the end of July for many nights. https://www.vrbo.com/729080

It is going through a remodel right now and will have new baths and a beautiful new kitchen. It has nice bay/mountains views, is close to the beach path, two tennis courts and right in front of the fire pit for sunset viewing. It does not have BALI HAI views and 4323 which is a favorite of mine is booked, but this one is really nice.

This one also has openings the end of July. It was remodeled last year, is in a very quiet area and has some Bali Hai views. http://www.summitpacificinc.com/7102.html

This last one sounds like what you want. Its a favorite unit of mine because you have the same views as if you were staying at St Regis for twice as much. http://www.summitpacificinc.com/9105.html

Its at the higher end of your budget but worth it. Go to Kauai Pacific and check their calendar. Sometimes the manager isn't good about blocking off the dates on the SP calendar.

Hope this helps. If you give me your dates I can search a bit more but these three are all good choices.

If you are open to the idea of a standalone cottage, this is our favorite place to stay in Kauai:

We have spent several anniversaries here and to me it would be the perfect place for a honeymoon, especially if privacy is important.

Thanks to both of you for your replies! Jebett, we are looking in mid-July, starting around the 15th or 16th for 6 nights. Bali Hai views are a must from the unit and we'd love the interior to be updated/more modern feel. I like the 7102 unit you sent; the 9106 unit seems a bit dated in terms of interior design. Let me know if you or anyone else have further suggestions or input on the HBR units/Puu Poa units with Bali Hai views. Thanks!
