I will be visiting Barcelona in month of January 19 and would like to know the places where can I purchase cost effective goods like clothes, perfumes, chocolates and shoes.

Good shopping streets downtown are Portal de l’Angel, Portaferrisa and Pelayo.

El Corte Ingles is a large department store located at Plaza de Catalunya.

Weird question. Perfumes and chocolates are never "cost effective", since they serve no real purpose at all. It's different for shoes and clothes of course: they do have a purpose, but the most basic of them will do in most cases. So the most "cost effective" place to buy them is probably a market like Els Encants Vells (near Plaça de les Glòries).

Barcelona (and Spain in general) is not "the best place" for perfumes or chocolate (there are very good chocolatiers here but it's not exactly cheap, you can get regular known chocolate brands but it's not the cheapest place, although it depends to what you compare it to).

On the other hand it's a great place for clothes and shoes, certainly the many excellent local known (and less known) brands.

Most chains have outlet stores around the city, there are a few in the SOM Multiespai shopping center (previously Heron City) which is not in the center but can be reached by metro.

There is another outlet shopping center not too far from Barcelona in

Viladecans called "Viladecans The Style Outlets", it's near the local commuter train station (the Rodalies trains) called, obviously, "Viladecans"

La Roca Villa is a big outlet shopping center that is very popular (and apart from very few holidays it is open on Sundays and holidays) and many other outlets have opened store next to it (like Nike). It is about 35km from the city with regular, and special, buses going there.

For Nike I always take the Metro to Fondo and than walk about 500m in the direction where Ikea and Decathlon are.
