What to do in RTW with my Mum

Hello,

I am planning to taking my Mum to RTW for the day along with my younger sister.

What are the key places to visit? Also, any recommendations for afternoon tea?

RTW is known for being a spa town so was thinking of taking my Mum for a massage or facial but the reviews on TA are not very good...any thoughts of where I could take her?

Thanks.

Take a walk down the High Street to the Pantiles, Woods do afternoon tea http://woodsrestaurant.co.uk/our-menu/

So does the Spa Hotel.

Maybe visit Dunorlan Park.

More info including Spas

If you are driving there may be other places on the outskirts that you could visit.

Visit the Weatherspoon's pub in the restored Opera House building. A couple of minutes away is the Royal Victoria Shopping Centre, unusual in being a modern shopping mall in the middle of a town, rather than miles away on an industrial estate. Nearby Camden Road has a number of little shops selling odd things!

Think you need current advice from Tunbridge Wells not Portugal. The Weatherspoon's Pub - where there was a recent hygiene issue that closed the pub for a number of days - can easily be usurped with far better places to visit.

The Pantiles to Dunorlan covers a number of miles - so both may be an issue; however if you are arriving by train then the High Street and Pantiles are easily accessible. There are a number of fab cafes on the Pantiles - Woods is just one and one of the older ones, with newer ones springing up all the time. Wander around and enjoy the shops as well and visit the new hotel, 1 Warwick Park.

Royal Victoria Shopping Centre whilst having a multitude of shops, offers very little that you won't find anywhere else.

Camden Road is the opposite direction tot he Pantiles so check distances.

Cubsur has tried to assist travellers over 45,000 times. Your count is 32. If there's a problem with a recommendation, then you may wish to politely point it out rather than have a go.

Anyway, at the risk of being slagged off for posting from across the county border, here's my afternoon tea suggestion : http://www.spavalleyrailway.co.uk/product.php/21/afternoon-tea

Background for those who don't know. I was in Tunbridge Wells three times last year, I used to live there (in Camden Road) and will be back again twice in May to meet friends.

I suggested Weatherspoon's for the interior, not necessarily food or beer!
