Hi, I am trying to decide on a hotel for summer. Would you recommend Listed hotel or Hyatt Regency based on a location and a hotel itself. Thank you!

Can we assume you've read the reviews for each here on TA?

Personally I would take the Listel, since its location on Robson puts it in easy walking distance to little restaurants and shops, and not too far a walk to Stanley Park, English Beach, etc. It's also a lot smaller than the Hyatt - only 129 rooms to the Hyatt's 600+, so much less a huge "business" type hotel than the Hyatt. It's been a few years since I stayed at the Listel, but I remember it as being very customer service focused.

I have only stayed at the Hyatt, nice rooms, outdoor pool, also just steps to Robson. Both are probably good bets.

Hyatt's a nicer property but kinda boring on a really busy corner. Listel, on Robson, is less hectic. I'd take Hyatt for the wee bit of extra luxury. To add some confusion, I'd take Sutton Place over either.

Book Hyatt Regency.

A few minutes walk to Canada Line and Seabus. Burrard Station (Expo Line) is just outside. Many major bus lines have stops around here. I have stayed manu hotels around here (Georgia, Vancouver, Hyatt, Shangrila). Super convienent and you save time.

I have never been a fan of that section of Robson where Listel is located. It is not that close to Stanley Park. Transit is just ok for downtown. Too many constructions and developments. Find it boring.

Bottom line. if I had a friend coming to Vancouver, Hyatt over Listel. No brainer.

Of the two, I would choose the Hyatt. It is on the Expo Line at Burrard Station, on the bus route over to the North Shore (Capilano Suspension Bridge), is a Capilano Susp Bridge free shuttle stop, is 500 m walk to the Vancouver City Centre Station on the Canada Line to get to the airport. Is close to Robson St restaurants, Hornby St restaurants near the Art Gallery, stores like Nordstroms and The Bay. Some higher floor rooms will have views of the North Shore mountains.

We will have a car, so we didn’t plan on using a public transport.

Also, are there restaurants and cafes in a walking distance from Hyatt? With hotels now not serving even a breakfast we would need something close by. Thank you!

There are cafes and restaurants near the Hyatt. It’s in a core downtown location. It’s a 6 minute walk to Scuie or Scoozi’s both of which have good breakfast. You may find the car more of a nuisance than a help for downtown.

The downtown area of Vancouver is compact and walkable. 20 minutes from Canada Place to False Creek, 40 minutes from BCPlace to Stanley Park.

I realize people sometimes need cars for various reasons but even getting from the airport is easier with the Canada Line than with a car.

While the Hyatt is larger than the Listel it’s in a better location, especially if you have a car.

Like Alegre I would choose Sutton Place over either of your two. They are offering great deals, the Sutton Grande Residences have good kitchens, easy car access, excellent transit access. I’ve stayed there many times and have booked friends in there as well.

For folks with decent physical mobility, staying at the Hyatt or the Listel with a car would be like staying at the Chelsea or the Marriott Eaton Centre with a car. A car would be redundant as you can easily walk around downtown Vancouver. Maybe you have three kids under 5 yr old though which would make having a car a good idea. Out the back entrance is a shuttle stop for coaches such as Capilano Suspension Bridge. They have self park and valet park.

Customer - Mon-Sun - All day. 24 Hours $41.66.

Valet - Mon-Sun - All day. 24 Hours $52.08.

The Listel has self parking at $25 a night + tax. Parking tax is 30%.

No, we are coming as a couple, no kids this time. The car will allow us some freedom to explore, go to Whistler , other places without worrying using a public transportation during COVID times.

I’ve heard that if you have a parking app the parking is cheaper?
