Would like to know if beach chairs and umbrellas can be hired in English Bay in September?
No, that doesn’t exist on any beach in Vancouver. Instead of chairs, locals will bring a blanket or towel and set them in front of the driftwood/logs that are placed up and down the beach. The only beach with umbrella rentals is Wreck Beach, which is a clothing optional counterculture beach. The umbrella rentals there aren’t official, just an entrepreneurial vendor.Edited: 2 years ago
Thanks, from my checking on Google maps it looks like the Cactus Club cafe would be the best place to chill out by the beach in a bit more comfort than the logs. Those logs are a good idea though and look nice but they don't have any shade.
Did the trial by Vancouver Parks Board and The Vancouver Beach company not work out?
You can buy a folding chair. Maybe one with a parasol
I just used call a friend and the answer is yes.
Life guard station at English Bay has chair and brillie rentals.
