What's your favourite airport hotel for kids? Won't be leaving the hotel. Just a one night stay over between flights. Need free airport shuttle service. Bonus if there's a pool. Thanks!

The cost of the Fairmont right at the airport is worth it, especially with two kids and the pool.

+1to Alegre's point. While you can find less expensive places off site, the Fairmont takes the shuttle aspect out as you can walk to and from your gates. Also, if you ask for a room on the north facing side there are great views of the approach/landing runway which the kids might enjoy (not sure of their ages). Finally, while the restaurant at the F is not cheap it is good--but you also have the option of walking into the terminal where there are a reasonable selection of adequate eating places outside security.

Either fairmont or river rock. River rock is a casino hotel, but has a goood pool much better than the fairmont pool. You would have to pay to take the Canadaline to the river rock though.

Last time I looked, a night at the Fairmont cost about $600 more than the other hotels in the area. Take a look at the Sandman and see if it meets your needs. I have stayed there, but it was under different management then, but I did find it very family friendly.

The rates will be very dependent upon your actual travel dates. But using a dummy booking, and logging in as a Fairmont Loyalty member( with ZERO status… lol)

Sandman Signature was approx. $180, and Fairmont was $287.

Whether or not there is a value proposition depends upon your arrival time, whether or not you want to both with baggage + kids on a shuttle, and whether or not 100 sq ft is worth extra ;)

You may qualify for some sort of discount if you have a corporate rate, or are a member of CAA, or traveling during a "residents' rate" promotion.

Good to know. Last time I looked, the Fairmont at the airport was around $800 per night. I stopped looking after that.

Pacific Gateway Hotel is the next closest to the airport other than the Fairmont

The pool is outdoor and seasonal
