I checked DriveBC for the drive from Nanaimo to Tofino on Highway 4. It says highway closures 11AM-3PM starting Aug 3. But it does not say when it ends. Is it still closed? Should we plan to drive before 11AM or after 3PM to Tofino from Nanaimo? Trying to plan so that we don't get stuck in the car. Thanks for your help!

It’s an ongoing years long project. The highway is closed everyday for some portion of the day

If you search the forum you can find recent reports of driving issues/wait times.

What day are you driving in? When out?Likely you will have some wait time no matter what.

That is a Friday so you need to leave Parksville around 8 or 8:30 to be there well before the closure at 11.
