The ice is made from purified water, so you don't have to worry about it.

The tap water is fine to brush your teeth with but if you want a drink, use bottled water. The tap water is treated but the very fact that it's "different" water to that which you're used to can cause an upset tummy if you drink a lot of it.

Go to your local health food store and get some probiotics to take before you go. This helped our family immensely. We took them for only a few days before leaving but it is better to take them for a few weeks before going. We were told this by a local dr. who travels to out of the country often and who did not deny that Americans (& Canadians I am sure :) get sick while on vacation, even at the best resorts. You can also eat yogurt, but there are more varied strains of "good" bacteria in probiotics. You can also buy them online... we tood one a day and 2 a day while down there. Previous trips we always got sick, even drinking bottled water. It was worth a try for us and we had a fantastic vacation.

Good idea Mebber ..... if I remember in time, we all take acidophilus supplements prior to travelling. This is the same thing that's found in ACTIVE CULTURE yoghurt but in tablet form and it fosters growth of the "good" bacteria that you need to have in your gut. Acidophilus is readily available at most pharmacies and health food stores.
