Left or Right at Trunk?

Left or Right at Trunk?

Good afternoon! We have a group of 12 traveling over the holidays in December. I know it will be crowded and plan to get to the beach very early and try to grab some natural shade. Even though we have been to St. John several times, we rarely go to Trunk. Advice on turning left or right when entering the beach to find the best spot(s). Thank you in advance!

Hate to even put this out there lol, but one of our favorite spots on island is Trunk to the right of the cay. There’s shade available and it’s generally a lot more low-key over there than the rest of the beach. Long walk to the bathrooms or concessions, though.

The furthest from concessions and bathrooms is usually the quietest spot. I don’t think it matters if it’s left or right.

We went to Trunk this morning and set up on the far right, at the end. Arrived at 8:30 and picked out a shady spot. Watched pelicans dive bomb for fish all morning. Really neat experience. We went out into the water and it didn’t bother them. They kept diving. So close, we were splashed sometimes.
