Glad to see they are doing something to help the beach out.. but will stink if they are doing the area in front of your hotel when you are there..
I wonder if this will actually get underway on time. I’m keeping my fingers crossed that we will be fine for our trip in August!
I wonder if anyone is there now who sees anything happening?
they did a good job dredging surfside.........i expect the same good job will be done at palm beach.
Thanks for the info GoGiants. It is always good to be forewarned. I imagine this Forum will get updates about the Project from vacationers witnessing what is going on.Edited: 16 June 2018, 03:14
Good Morning....I will be arriving in Aruba for the first time in October. I have been looking forward to this vacation...but am having second thoughts now. I am looking at maps...but am still questioning the area for the beach restoration. Will the beach in front of the Bucuti be part of this project? Thank you for your help.
The project has started. You can see the dredge on the Playa Linda's webcam: http://www.playalinda.com/webcams/
Looks pretty small and not disturbing much, but you can also see they have blocked off water access here.
Here is the schedule..The mobilization of the equipment started June 11, 2018 and the actual dredging will start on June 19, 2018 with fase A1 and to other sections.
Here’s the dredging schedule.
