Hyperinflation of the lungs. Flying OK?

Doctors don't seem to have many answers to the condition. It seems that swimming/snorkeling/ diving should be avoided. Hyperinflation causes the lungs to over inflate and expand more than normal. Now, I don't know if it's safe to fly.

If your doctor doesn’t have the answers you need to find another doctor, preferably one which specialises in the condition. Seeking advice from strangers on the internet is hardly a safe way to make a decision.

Of course , I would double check with a doctor. Just curious if anyone else has encountered this issue? In this area, medical care is basically do-it-yourself.

You mention doctors - are you looking for self treatment on the web? You should really get with a doctor who knows you and knows how severe your situation is. As mentioned, strangers (including doctors) on the internet are not the way to go. Their experiences could be very different than yours.

Our doctors have little experience. Usually have to explain to them.

So you are seeing a pulmonologist and they don't know what this is? Hmm.

Pulmonologist says it's a sign of COPD. 4 different lung tests result in NO COPD. He did say OK to fly.
