Travomint Deals?

Travomint Deals?

I am planning to book a Holiday Package for this Xmas. Just wondering if its a right platform to make the reservation.

Anyone has any experience to share, I would highly appreciate.

There are comments on this forum about this agency, going back 7 years. I personally recommend people do some minimal research when working with anyone new, so I included a few other links below.

Are you joking? A Holiday Package for this Xmas? That ship sailed many months ago, I can only assume you belong to the 1st Time Posters Club where they come up with imaginary scenarios to post about here, for what reason is not clear.

You haven't mentioned if it is the US or UK website you are referring to.

Since you mention Holiday Package and not a Vacation Package (unless by Holiday you mean Xmas), I will assume it is for a UK based person. They do not offer package deals on their UK website, nor are they ATOL licensed to do so.

Those old TA threads are full of misinformation, one thread is about refunds during COVID and the other one is about providing extra ID for a credit card transaction, which posters advised was a scam. 7 years ago. You could not make it up.

And the comments regarding "live pricing" were incorrect then as it is today, with posters attempting to explain a subject they do not understand. Once a theory like that is imbedded, it is impossible to change that viewpoint, like trying to tell someone the earth is not flat when they are convinced it is.

fru: You seem to want to debate this and score points somehow, so let's debate. You are correct, there are no "packages" for sale on the UK site. But there are vacation packages on the US site. In fact, they are called holiday tour packages. In addition, I know many people who take holidays in the US and refer to them as holidays, not vacations. Or they may call them PTO.

When I make a post here, I try to arm the poster or commenter with information. I noted that there were posts and information which could be easily researched. I suggested to the OP (not to you) to read them. Instead, as per usual, you attepted to score debate points on finer aspects of these previous posts. I noted that you neglected to refer to any of the leadership or funding posts I linked? Maybe it doesn't matter to you, but it may be something useful for the OP who asked the question.

You mention COVID in your comment. While it's true that COVID changed a lot of things, the fact is that their leadership today is identical to when lockdowns occurred. Staffing, guidelines, etc. It's the how they do business component. A traveler may not deserve a refund or compensation, but a company can have empathy to a situation.

But the question at hand which the OP asked, is whether one should consider using them. My answer, based on my own research, is no that I would not use them. Whether or not any of the allegations is true or not, there is enough evidence there for me to personally avoid them.

To close this friendly debate, the only question I have is whether you would consider using them and what your justification is either way? Because that's what these forums stand for. Not scoring points and poking at others who make comments, but to offer travel advice.

bk, I was going to complement you yesterday when I read your comprehensive response including links to where the OP could go to evaluate their question. That was over and above and much more than I usually do.

Now that your research has been challenged I saw that the complaints in the first thread you linked goes back 7 years, well before Covid. So fru is wrong on that.

The positive posts about Travomint are all from one time posters. The question for me that no one has ever answered is how can a mostly unknown site like Travomint offer airfares below the airlines price? I saw in a few cases where inbound and outbound flights were on different airlines, which can explain a lower cost, but Travomint is not the only site that offers that.

As far as fru's statement that its to late to book a Christmas Holiday package I strongly doubt that. If a person is willing to be open to various destinations and has the funds I'm sure options are available. Whether a person will follow through once they see the price I don't know because I have no idea of the OP's budget.

Much appreciated. Last week I wrote a couple overly critical comments and engaged with staff to clarify. It was reaffirmed that healthy debate and advice is encouraged on forums with no excess criticism and point scoring. So that's what I am doing.

You are correct. The OP has a choice to make and is asking for advice and experience. I shared the posts/links and OP and others can read them and determine reality and applicability. I agree with you that it's not too late to consider a late year holiday package. I hope the OP comes back to share more about their needs, budget, and what they might have found on this website so commenters can meet the OP's expectations. That would be exactly the goal for this forum. Travel advice.

Thumb's up bk. Since I can't do the emoji like I do in text I think I will start just writing out "thumbs up".

I'll give you a thumbs up too, bk. I do not think it's acceptable or useful to have a dig at other contributors. It's enough to just give your own opinion along with whatever facts you might have to back your opinion up.

Unfortunately fru very rarely pays actual facts. It's mostly just declarations without any relevant links to help anyone. I don't mind that at all, but when these sort of blanket statements (e.g. that it's too late for a Christmas package) are accompanied by unnecessary criticism of posts from years back it's annoying and pointless.

Most importantly this behaviour derails and disrupts the discussion. It's not helpful to anyone.
