About
Hotel, motel, bistro. Family friendly pub with a great country atmosphere, open fireplaces for winter, spacious verandah for summer. A great alternative for visitors to Canberra who want to escape the business of the city, only a 30 minute drive to the city centre. 14 hotel rooms with a double and single in each room, ensuite bathroom, large TV, and tea and coffee making facilities. Bistro open 7 days for lunch and dinner with a huge menu available. We see our menu as "pub-fusion", your classic pub food such as schnitzels, parmagianas, burgers and Kiev's, as well as a selection of steaks, seafood, pizzas, Asian dishes, pasta dishes and a variety of specials that change weekly. Our menu also contains many gluten free and vegetarian options. 8 ice cold beers on tap and a large range of wines including wines from the Murrumbateman area, one of the best wine regions in Australia. The pub also serves as the hub of the community, the local lions club hold meat raffles every Friday night, and there are quite often fundraising events raising money for local clubs or causes.

Every year when attending the Field Days, we always eat at the Country Inn. Top food, top staff and they even have Piper Champagne. High recommended.

Ordered the 'special' pasta. It was just a cheap supermarket-bought pasta and sauce, the pasta appeared to have been reheated and was dried out. It was so inedible that, after a few mouthfuls, I left the rest. Waste of money.

We had a very good dinner here, good sized portions and tasty. The interior is much more rustic than it would seem from outside, a pleasant surprise, good country atmosphere with friendly service.

This busy venue provides good pub food with prompt service. We visited on a Friday night, so it was a bit noisy, but not uncomfortably so. A good range of meals are available and the servings are quite generous. A good selection of beers on...More

Murrumbateman is a great place to stopover when visiting the Yass wineries. Unfortunately, it's a small town and there's not much in the way of restaurants that open at night. So if you want a decent feed then head to the Country Inn. A nice atmosphere...More

I’ve never gone wrong with the curries on the specials board. Fabulous open fire in winter. Good choice of local wines.

This is one of our favourite local places to eat. We’ve never had a bad meal there. Great choice at really good prices. And glasses of wine start at less than $6! Friendly staff add to the great pub atmosphere.

More of a restaurant than a bistro. Orders are taken at the counter but are delivered to your table. Open daily 12-2:30 and 5:30-8:30
