An excellent evening at Le Saltimbanque on our first visit. Our friends and neighbours gave us a gift voucher for our wedding anniversary. The view from the location is fantastic, looking over the Somme valley toward Abbeville. We arrived at sunset which was an added bonus. The atmosphere was beautifully calm with knowledgeable servers who were not intrusive. The menu uses seasonal, local ingredients such as honey from the restaurant's own beehives. The tasting menu is advertised as five plates but I think in the end we had around eight courses. The food was amazing. From the first course of a mushroom and pork ragout served with a small crepe and cheese cream to the desert. Every course was of the highest quality. Great tastes and textures. This menu is clearly very well considered. The wine list is extensive with prices starting at around 37 euro. We had an excellent Medoc for 47 euro. The restaurant is pre-book only and everyone is seated by around 19:30 so there is not a constant stream of people arriving and leaving. This leads to a very calm and relaxed atmosphere. It surprised us when we realised we had been there for three hours. So, the price point reflects the quality of the food and wine but I am already saving my pennies for another visit.

A superb discovery. Refined and excellent cuisine, full of surprises. Lots of care and originality in the 5 dishes of our mystery menu. From appetizers to desserts, local products are perfectly highlighted. Value for money rarely encountered.
A caring, frankly friendly chef who even came to pick us up on the road because we were having trouble with our bikes…

We had reservations for 2 people
For the lunch
As we were on time we were able to choose our table with a splendid view of the surrounding nature
The 4-course menu at 50 euros is very well balanced
We received 2 appetizers with the house aperitif: white wine with honey and herbs
A starter with a variation on tomato, a fish as a 2nd starter
And a piece of pigeon with puree and lentils as a main course
Then a pre dessert and finally the cherry dessert
Everything was very well presented and in good taste.
We really have time to taste and at a really reasonable price
In short, an address to recommend!

We booked this restaurant with my wife for the first time. We had planned to arrive at the restaurant before 8.30pm and sent an email to the restaurant to inform it that we would be a little late (10 minutes) because we were putting our little girl to bed. They called us as we went to the restaurant at 8:20pm to inform us that they would no longer be able to welcome us as their doors would soon close. The lady told us: "I spoke to my boss and he said we can't accommodate you because you're too late. I can't do anything because I'm just an employee." Then she hung up on us. Then we got a no show email, which means we're going to be charged €70 for not honoring our Reservation. In addition, the e-mail said: "Unfortunately, we will not be able to receive you in our establishment in the future". I have visited many Michelin-starred restaurants for many years (this one is not), and I have never seen so much arrogance and contempt. But who do they think they are? To avoid...
We booked this restaurant for the first time. We aimed to arrive at the restaurant by 20h30 and emailed the restaurant to advise that we would be slightly late on that time (10mn) as we were putting our baby daughter to bed. They called us while we were travelling to the restaurant at 8.20pm to advise that they could not welcome us as their doors would soon close. The lady said to us:"I spoke to my boss and he said we can't welcome you as you're too late. There is nothing I can do as I am just an employee". And then hung up the phone on us. Then we received an email of "no show" which means we will be charged 70€ for not honouring our reservation. Even more, the email said we would "no longer be welcome to this establishment". In many years of visiting Michelin starred restaurants (this one is not), I have never seen so much arrogance and contempt. Avoid this place at all costs... honestly, who do they think they are??????

Beautiful interior decor, intimate, refined and authentic. The dishes, I would even say the taste experiences were an explosion of taste for our taste buds. We enjoyed every moment, from starter to dessert. We were served duck breasts, we do not like this dish at all. We tried to do him credit, but without success. The staff made sure we were satisfied. We will definitely go back. Only reproach, the Award of the glass of wine, very expensive but delicious so .....We knew it since the Award was specified on the menu.
In conclusion, for us, Very nice experience to do again without a doubt.

At the top of a hill, the view is breathtaking over the valley. The welcome is perfectly friendly and the service friendly and relaxed. The "surprise" menu is impeccable and, if you don't like a dish, a high quality substitute is offered. Only one regret: not having reserved a guest room available on site!

Very pretty setting in nature. On the catering side you don't have to be hungry... There's nothing to complain about when it comes to discovering the flavors, it's original and a change from the ordinary but in terms of quantity we're on a kind of aperitif dinner where when you come out of the evening you're still hungry .
The price... a little excessive for the quantity on our plates
20 euros for 2 glasses of wine from small producers... I also find that exaggerated, especially since we are not looking for great wine flavors...

I do not want to comment on the quality of the plates which could nevertheless be the subject of strong criticism, the main fault not being there. The chef is simply beyond unfriendly, he is undrinkable! His attitude ruins the whole atmosphere and erases the qualities that one could find at this restaurant. Reading the responses to comments that raise the same defect, I don't think he is ready to hear criticism of his ego.
I therefore advise against the experience.

We always take real pleasure in spending time in this magnificently decorated and wonderfully flavored place!
We have an appointment with true professionals of French gastronomy: original dishes filled with exceptional flavors, impeccable and smiling service, advice on pairing wines with the dishes offered!
In short, we never get tired of it!
A real gourmet restaurant!

Beautiful terrace which we took advantage of with a beautiful panorama.
A cuisine full of finesse with local products and sometimes simple like herbs (ground ivy). The wines served by the glass are original.
The service is careful while being relaxed.

No menu changes, we like surprises. All the dishes offered delighted our taste buds with a favorite being the smoked pike quenelle. Unfortunately we did not remember the names of the herbs and other ingredients that made up the succulent sauces. Pleasant service with description of the dishes served. Very good homemade bread and salted butter, just out of greed we asked for more. Lovely view of the Somme valley. During our next stays in Picardy we will not miss a stop at Saltimbanque. Excellent value

Flawless: everything is thought out and considered so that the materials used (from the knife to the glass) come from local artisans.
The cuisine mirrors the setting: healthy, authentic, magnified.
The service is impeccable, congratulations to the restaurant owners' daughter for coming to help her parents with this big smile. A little wink for the sommelier, funny and great wine discoveries.
In itself a restaurant to do!

Fantastic restaurant. What a lovely first day in France.
The food was exceptional and the service attentive but not over the top.
We had the €40 menu with each plate a lovely surprise. The accompanying wine was perfect.
We will be back! Thank you

Very beautiful view as soon as you arrive. Then the welcome is very friendly. We feel a warm atmosphere between the whole team. Unconstrained smiles and humor. The dishes are surprising and delicious. The mixtures are daring but so successful. Everything is done for the satisfaction of customers, even hosts, I would say. We feel invited to friends' homes. Well done and thank you.

I wanted to make a reservation for our anniversary. Unable to validate my bank details. I call them to find a solution even if I have to go see them on site. And there, in a sarcastic way, the waiter replies to me that it is not a bank branch...really very friendly welcome!!!
