Excellent meat and Sole for 3 people

Our party had 3 people and we ordered the meat platter for 2 and a grilled sole to be shared by the table. We had 0.5L of the local white wine and a bottle of water for the table. The meat was excellent and had been cooked to perfection the Sole had been grilled just the right amount to. I personally rate the meat from this restaurant higher than the fish but had an excellent experience. The waitress spoke good English and the food was delivered within a reasonable time. I would come here again We did have to book and they are open for lunch and dinner

At first, when I arrived, I was scared because it looked like a tavern with old people drinking outside. But then we were seated in a very well decorated room with a large table and the food was divine. I ate grilled tongue and it was the best I've eaten to date.

Go early or reserve ahead (and have faith). Than ask what fresh fish they have. And then, enjoy one of the best grills around here. 5 people, we had dourada, pargo, sangria, red wine, deserts -> 25€ each

This is a no-showoff restaurant, and they have made some surprising choices, like fruit in salad and in the main side dishes of the grilled food, to counteract any possible overmeat scenarios. A neighboor told us about the place... good quality of fishes and meets, big plates, salads and it is in the middle of countryside just five minuts to the clifs... nice place! Muy recomendable si quieres comer buena calidad a buen precio!

As I was visiting Porto Covo and needed a place to eat I looked for Tripadvisor for some guidance and found Amândio Restaurant. It looked like a place where people from the neighborhood goes. People are friendly, they receive us with a smile and they are always gentle. The menu has mainly grilled meat or fish, So we went for both. A mix of grilled meat and a grilled fish (Dourada) grilled openned in half. However, the service lacked some quality. Too many things were simply forgotten. We asked for some entries but they never came to our table. Ask for Water, Cola and Wine. Wine also never came. Suddenly our food is dropped down on our table. The fish seemed to had better days. It was grilled for too much time and it was dry. The meat had the same destiny. Picanha completely dry, Entremeada had the same treatment and the pork sausage lost all its juices and flavor. Not the best experience. In a mix grilled dish these were the only kinds of meat. Strange. The lady kept bringing grilled meat but always the same Entremeada and thin slice of Picanha. The sausage appeared once. Maybe its the way around here cause we looked for to the other tables and food looked the same. Price is too high for what you get. Service and food. Hope for better days. Ps: Canned Peach?? Really?

Local food and excellent fresh fish

Very pleasant lunch - good local fare and excellent grill fish. Nice atmosphere, friendly staff and reasonable wine list. Get here early it is a favourite with the locals. We had Salmonete - Red Mullet and it was very fresh and grilled to perfection. Our companions had grilled fish too.

Very popular with locals. Recommend book a table at least a day ahead. +351-269905277 Ribeira da Azenha, but no indication of the restaurant. GPS 37º 48’ 06.9” N - 8º 46’ 31.5 W – On the way to Aivados beach (another hidden gem, by the way). A place run by Mrs Julinha also an expert of the grill. Grilled fish of excellence, catch of the day delivered by the fisherman's themselves. Superb coal grill meat, all one can eat. In fact, I had to beg the girl not to bring anymore. Other local food dished looked very good. Good wine selection. Returned twice that week.
