Lovely, intimate atmosphere and service. Great, wholesome food. Good prices. One or two more veggie options and it would be a 5/5!

We enjoyed a lovely afternoon at the lower with friends. We all had the new bench. A great selection of savoury and sweet. Well worth the money. We were so full and thus given tubs to take any leftovers home. Great service. Enjoyed every mouth...full. Highly recommend trying it out for yourself. My daughter is a vegetarian and they even catered for her too. 5 stars from me!More

We had the best time this afternoon after booking for 11 of us to share Picnic Benches (obviously socially distanced on 2 tables). The service was brilliant (thank you Ethan) and the food was even better! We were even given plastic containers to take our...left overs home in as we were stuffed. Can't thank Curtis and the team enough for fitting us in and being so attentive 👏🏼More

Took my mother her for her birthday. I live in Cardiff but we were shopping in Cwmbran. Checked the reviews and they looked good. What a disappointment we had the 2 course menu my mother had lasagne which was tasteless and too much pasta that...was undercooked I had fish which was very greasy and overcooked in parts. No one asked if we had enjoyed the meal even though 60% was returned. Would not recommendMore

We visited The Lower New Inn for Sunday lunch with some friends visiting from out of town. We’d never been before, but it was definitely worth the trip. We both brought a dog each, to which they provided water and biscuits which was lovely! The...food was 5*, really great portions and reasonably priced. The service was also great, we weren’t waiting around for ages for food and the next courses came out in a lovely flow. The staff also couldn’t ask enough whether we had everything we needed, would like more drinks etc. We will definitely be visiting again!More

I came last week for Sunday lunch with one of my friends. I tried the soup (parsnip and cider?) to start which was unusual combination I’d never think of doing but totally fantastic and he had wings which he said were really good. Our mains...were lovely and came with a nice selection of veg. We then had desserts to finish which were really good - Eton mess sundae and cheesecake. Previously working in hospitality myself, I know a Sunday lunch shift is so hard in normal times let alone covid and a huge well done to all the team for providing a fab static and safe service to us all in difficult times. We will be back and look forward to trying some other foods, the tapas night looked amazing!More
