Another fantastic meal at Bournemouth local.
We don't eat out regularly but this is a fantastic meal near to home. The staff are friendly and attentive but never hover over you. Great food and brilliant service.
We managed to book in at the last minute on our way home and we were delighted with the Sunday carvery.
The pub is beautiful inside, clean welcoming and the staff were very friendly.
The carvery was excellent with a good choice of meats and...vegetables. We'll definitely be back again.More
We ate here twice in the last week, bar meals on weekdays on both occasions. On both visits the food was of a reasonable standard and the staff couldn’t have done more to help. Our dog was allowed in the pub with us, there are...dog friendly areas of the pub so please don’t let the presence of dogs put you off if you’re not a doggy person. The beer was good, not that we were drinking much with driving, but overall our two visits were positive experiences and we will not hesitate to visit again if we’re back in the area in the future.More
Whilst staying at the forest pines Hilton, we wanted to have some local food and support the local community. This place was perfect! Excellent food, very friendly staff and customers. Very family friendly with a good kids menu and Suzanne portions for adults (and tall...teenagers) burgers, salmon and steaks were well cooked and presented, with speedy service with a smile and good chat. We may return tomorrow it was that good!!More
I don't very often write reviews but after a visit here with my husband and our friends, I had to let others know what a fantastic night we had! Between the 6 of us, we had 5 different dishes! They were all amazing. I had...the hake in batter with a sweet chilli sauce (from the specials board) and it was the best meal out I've had in a very long time! The pie, stroganoff, steak and fish are all highly recommended. The service was excellent too! We were served by a lovely friendly waitress. The chef/owner also came and enquired if we were happy. He really wanted our comments to improve but there really weren't any. We all agreed that we would strongly recommend this little gem to others. Reasonably priced too. We will be visiting again very soon!More

Hi, and thank you for your review.
I remember you visiting. I'm the owner but not the chef. The credit for the food is due to the great team in the kitchen. Hope to see you a again soon.

Not the greatest table directly by the carvery service and i didnt get the drink i asked for, in spite of this, the staff were friendly, the cavery service was plentiful and delicious and the price was extremely good. I would definitely go again.
Been here twice now for food - the first time was a Sunday roast and it was divine, everything tasted homecooked and so much better than other carveries I've been to. However the staff were sometimes questionable in their decision making etc, and it came...across like they didn't know what they were doing.
Fast forward a couple of months and we visited just before new years eve and had a mid week meal. The food was unfortunately not up to standard this time - I had the lasagne and it was luke warm and so dry inside, thank god for the mayonnaise! I then ordered a lemon pudding and it was awful - it not only tasted like it had been sat there a few days, but it had that taste to it when people can't bake a cake (I know what taste I mean because I'm one of them!). Again, the pudding was cold, the custard slightly warmed it up but even that was lukewarm. The best bit about the dessert was the sauce that was drizzled on the plate!
The young staff don't come across very professional, one young girl (I think she was new), didn't even speak at all when giving us our puddings. Not a word was said! Again, she looked young so probably her first job but she needs to learn some customer service before putting her out in the restaurant (constructive criticism only!).
It's a lovely pub but on both occasions we've visited, I've always walked away thinking how poor the staff are because of an incident that's happened...More
Found by pure pot luck but what a find. We over for a skydive, unfortunately, the sky wasn’t playing so decided to find lunch! Lovely pub, great staff with food to match. The fire was a lovely touch and very much needed on a cold...January day. Keep up the great work.More
We arrived for our christmas do and we had all been assigned our own point of the pub. Chelsea took care of all our orders and communications all night and did an amazing job. She made sure we had all our order spot on and...the food was absolutely unreal. i can’t fault anything. The whole pub did anything to accompany us to ensure we had the best night. No faults at all. As you can see. Empty plates!More
