While Jeval (or Dzheval) is the best Crimean Tatar restaurant in town, this one is certainly # 1 as far as Russian food is concerned. They built their ambience around XIXth century nostalgia, sort of fin de siècle touch. Elegant, exquisite, fancy but not excessive...or nouveau riche-esque. Friendly service, good training of the staff, delicate food. Me and my wife ordered dressed herring (we Russians call it herring under a fur coat), vinegret (Russian salad with diced cooked vegetables which vary but must obligatory include red beets), two portions of stewed pikeperch with asparagus (one) and grilled vegetables (the other), three 0.5l Stella Artoise, rye garlic-seasoned croutons, three glasses of Viognier Château Esse, some grissini breadsticks and smaller tidbits. The bill amounted to RUR 4,541 (ca. USD 60) - quite friendly in view of quantity and especially quality of what we ate and drank. Strongly recommended. A must when in Yevpatoria.More
