The food was excellent and back to its best with Vito in the kitchen. The starters and main course included some old favourites with the suckling pig the best. The meal was capped with a beautiful birthday cake. Whilst the food service was excellent,my only...criticism was the tardy wine service.More

The food was excellent. It was very varied and well presented. The manager and staff were all very attentitive. Whilst the wine was good, it is disappointing that they no longer offer house wine in carafes.

Having been having meals here for years we were a little apprehensive after the hotel and restaurant have been bought by another company. Was it the same - no. Was the food good - yes. Was the service the same - no, worse. Was the...ambience the same - no. Was the choice as good - no. Was the price good value - fair, but prices have risen, the wine list is really small now. There has been a large re-vamp and the outside seating area looks nice, new glass conservatory, but slightly less seating. Inside - new furniture etc. But lost some of its charm. We will go again in the summer to see if they have improved but we were a little disappointed overall compared with the high standards in the past. They have reduced their staff and they were no where near as attentive. Had to ask for a number of things, they brought the wrong wine initially, had to ask repeatedly for bottle of water. No olive oil or balsamic on the table, but when brought - all was well.More

This was my first visit to the restaurant since the Vannucci changed hands. Whilst not as organised as in previous years, the food was excellent. Indeed, this was the best Easter lunch in six years. The quality is undoubtedly down to the return of chef,...Vito. With a starter, two pasta courses, lamb chops and deserts - all of which were excellent - wine, water and coffee included it was great value for money. With nearly all new staff, the service was slow in areas, but what they lacked in efficiency, they made up for in application and attitude..More

when a superior restaurants is bought out by a chain. My husband and I have enjoyed Zafferano for many years now and ALWAYS had Christmas lunch there. The manager, Orlando, ran the restaurant with precision and had the best service we have ever had. Sadly,...a German chain bought it out and brought in their own staff and our experiences have been less than stellar. Food has suffered and the service is very poor. So unfortunate as the setting is beautiful and the indoor dining room is lovely.More
