We have dined at La Casa Roja many times in the past to present. This place always delivers a fantastic experience.
Professional service, immaculate food presentation, excellent food.
We had the mackerel carpaccio as a starter to share. But prior to the starter you are presented with an amuse-bouche (fish cake & soup). Perfect way to start the meal!
Our mains were the fillet steak. It’s always excellent here! Cooked to perfection. Vegetables accompany the main (just the right amount).
We ended the meal with the coconut ice cream (one of the special desserts on offer). Fantastic.
Menu prices are very good- consider the quality and service you are getting. We have rated other establishments as excellent but they are not consistent when you go back. Whereas La Casa Roja always nails it.
Can’t say enough good things about La Casa Roja. We do feel it’s superior to everything around.
And a shout out to the great maitre’d, Chubby (have a feeling, oops, writing his name incorrectly). Thank you!

5☆ service from all staff. Maitre D was very knowledgable and our young waiter was attentive and entertaining. The food was excellent. Menu on offer was top class and the special selection offered local sourced food. This is our second visit and will definitely be making another visit in the future. Highly recommended.

Lovely clean environment, staff very pleasant but food and drink although very well presented and tasty, very small portions😧. I ordered the “meat taco” and immediately asked what is it accompanied by.it comes alone the waiter said. Thinking to myself obviously it is a fair sized meal. NOT! really it was a 100mm diameter tortilla bead on it was a bed of onions and on top of that, no more than a fish finger sized piece of steak, sliced with pir piri mayo in the mix.. needless to say myself and everyone around me were staring in amazement and wondering why I had ordered a starter and my wife a main🤔Well, we left out having a starter as we often think we eat too much. Sadly on this occasion we should have eaten before we arrived. I wasn’t prepared to order a sweet in case we had a similar experience. It wasn’t cheap either. Can’t wait for breakfast!

Our last dinner of the night here - was surprised the marina was so quiet on a Friday night!. La Casa Roja has lovely views and it looks to be a nice restaurant but unfortunately the food doesn't match. My husband enjoyed his fish but my mother and I didn't enjoy our chicken, especially the overcooked veg which I was embarrassed to see on the plate as it looked like it belonged in a school canteen. It took a long time to be served food when we were one of three tables and the other two had finished their meals. Some staff very nice, other a bit rude. Very so-so and wished we'd gone elsewhere.

It's hard to explain this restaurant it had a lovely look to it and great views, staff seemed friendly and the tables looked nice, we chose from menu and this took an age to order we sat waiting for any drink, once order was taken then food started to arrive and service sped up.
We ordered from Manager important point to remember and ordered local wine. This was a point when leaving which will explain.
A side order was brought out which was like a soup nice touch but plain.
Ordered the croquettes of ham and black pudding and Fillet of beef on hot stone and partner ordered the fish soup
Food came out quickly veg was bland and sauce for steak was a thimble full.
Fish soup was good.
By this time it was getting late plates were cleared but no rush to send desert menus over, we decided to leave deserts and asked for bill.
The Manager brought over the bill and also the card machine at same time he put down receipt
and I gave him card he checked bill and asked me to add pin, all done and I thanked him and he thanked me and we left a tip.
We said goodnight and left the restaurant walking up stairs out of marina we heard a lot of shouting and a waiter running towards us who then presented a bill for wine
I showed him I had paid for the meal and receipt he then grabbed hold of my arm and started shouting it seemed that had forgotten to add wine to the bill I asked him to let go but he carried on shouting at us both.
He would not speak English although in restaurant he spoke perfect English
I gave him what we owed as clearly there mistake and would not walk away Intentionally not paying
Perhaps if they paid more attention theh would have realised considering the Manager was standing by the empty wine bottle and also checked the bill and added amount into machine.
Spoilt a good experience others may have been less polite when he started grabbing my arm.

Having visited this restaurant previously we were looking forward to a warm welcome and an enjoyable evening meal. What we got however, was far from this. On arrival, we were asked if we had booked and we hadn’t. From that point on it was as if we were the biggest inconvenience ever… Rushed through to a seat, one menu to share, the specials reeled off in top speed in Spanish, which is fine but we struggled to work out what was on offer. We were then asked what drinks we wanted but hadn’t seen a drinks menu. I asked for some wine and what beers they had - the reply was “ 1 large beer yes.” We still have no idea what it was…. We asked for a fish dish to share, this was not available so we had to choose something else and was given precisely 30 seconds to do so… The food came out and whilst acceptable, it was underwhelming for the price. We asked for a dessert menu and once again, this was reeled off in top speed Spanish, and we could just about make out lemon sorbet so asked for 2 of those. They were more like frozen cocktails with a straw - not really what we expected. Overall, we felt like an inconvenience from the off, and were very disappointed with the meal. I think this restaurant rides on its reputation and location, but if you look around, there are many other restaurants, desperate for your business, who treat you so much better and provide better quality food for more reasonable prices. The location is amazing, but the service & food quality is not as you’d expect…

Been to this restaurant on numerous occasions . Would now NOT rush back . Food was so disappointing. Complained twice about the food presented to us. ( dont normally complain ) Food was cold and poor for fine dining. Service was slow and made no attempt to apologise for delay or unacceptable food. We wont rush back.

Dined here Wednesday 11th. Went for the specials. Smoked salmon with avocado and Tacos with spicy veg/sauce. Nothing remarkable. Main was shoulder of lamb. Plates were very very hot but the veg on the hot plate was tepid. Lamb had no flavor and was vastly under seasoned. Needed salt pepper, thyme, rosemary and garlic. Lamb was also tepid. We had two glassses of cava and a bottle of water. Bill came to 86 euro. Waiters were very nice and helpful except for Maitre’D who was officious and pompous. Won’t be back

Great venue and large restaurant with interesting menu but very disappointed with the service. We eat out for the entire 2 weeks so have a lot to compare to. I couldn’t even put it down to just the slow service with drinks and taking orders but more that we as customers were almost like an inconvenience! Surly, unhappy waiters (with the exception of 1 waitress), not a smile or pleasant word from any of them and almost threw the bill on our table! Let’s hope it was a very bad one-off night but I won’t be returning…
Part of a waitress/waiters job is to be happy or at least helpful and pleasant on a holiday island? No dessert menu as such and after asking politely twice for the dessert list, a waiter speaking through his mask as quickly as he could told us the dessert menu and failed to return to take the order. We gave up when trying to get a coffee…
I’d heard good things but the service was very poor indeed which is such a shame…
P.s. I expected more than 1 scallop for my £13 starter!

After having a wonderful night here on New Year’s Eve we were very keen to visit again but unfortunately the night did not measure up to our first visit . Despite the restaurant not being full, service was slow . Our main courses arrived despite the starters not having been cleared away and my partners main course order was incorrect. The waiter insisted that the order was correct and rather than make a scene my partner kept his dish although it was not what he had ordered. We ordered drinks at this point but these did not arrive until we had almost finished our food and this was only after I had to request them again. Whilst
my steak was delicious the vegetables were cold ( I decided against mentioning this after the rather negative response to our previous issue ! )
When the bill eventually came it stated the correct
original order that my partner had made which was very frustrating as staff had maintained that we were mistaken . When my partner pointed this out and politely expressed his disappointment, the dish was removed from the bill which we appreciated. The thing that we found particularly disappointing was the fact that the manager/owner was on site and must have been aware of the issues we had had yet made no attempt to come and speak to us and rectify the situation ( the waitress did however apologise and offered a complimentary drink although by this point we just wanted to leave).
On New Years Eve we left a very generous tip to reflect our enjoyment of night but sadly on this occasion, we felt compelled to leave nothing at all to reflect our pod experience. Sadly se will not be visiting again.

My wife and I on holiday were so looking forward to a nice meal and this restaurant looked to tick the boxes but we were so disappointed.
Once we were sat down by a courteous host we were left sitting for 20 mins! No one felt it would be good to offer us a drink choice or offer us a wine menu? We were 1 minute from walking out when that finally came. From our food choice onwards we were served the wrong tables food and if I’m bluntly honest when we got our food my Fillet steak was disappointing. I will say my wife enjoyed her fish hence the two stars but mine was so disappointing. I asked if there were more chips coming, I had probably 8 nice chips and about 5 were just hard and looked like they were left over from the night before.
My guess is this is normally a good restaurant but we wouldn’t ever go back, plenty of choice around and we just made a bad one.

On our 10th visit to Playa Blanca, my wife and I are familiar with many restaurants in the area and with those on the Marina. We have dined at Casa Roja on many previous occasions. On this visit, we dined with another couple on our arrival day. Attention was excellent as was the meal and we were offered “drinks on the house” at the end. Friendly and obliging staff. A most enjoyable evening.
So, we chose to return on the last evening of our stay and were seated as booked at 8pm. We waited and waited to be served while some obvious “regulars” who had arrived after us, were already on their main courses. Same with another couple who I suspect had come off one of the harbour yachts. We had our starters but then our main courses didn’t arrive with us until 9:40! To have to wait nearly 1¾ hours for our mains while others had dined, finished after being offered the customary “drinks on the house” and left, is not acceptable. No apology and no “drinks on the house” offered to us this time. I should have complained about the slow service but didn’t. I left a tip but shouldn’t!
We would like to return on our next visit as we do like Casa Roja, which is a lovely restaurant with a fabulous view, We hope next time we will receive the same friendly, polite and timely attention as on our earlier visit and receive the same attention as other apparently favoured diners.

Very disappointed with our meal here, ordered the seafood paella for two. It had obviously been prepared ahead of time, and when served there were three prawns each and two mussels each on top. Any seafood in the rice was so small that it was unidentifiable. There was no attempt to keep the paella warm while we ate, and although the service was fine it was very rushed - and the restaurant wasn’t busy. Really could not believe that they served us two mussels each - they are some of the cheapest seafood and to be given only two looked ridiculous.

This restaurant is in a fabulous setting on the Marina, the layout, furnishings and decor are perfect. However the management need to get their service sorted out. We visited on a Sat night, it was busy and staff did not seem to cope at all. 40 mins to take a food order is unacceptable and an hour from arrival for starters to arrive. Food was fairly good, would recommend the sirloin steak but beware - rolls are put on table without askimg for them and 4 euros added to bill.😡

We visited after booking at late notice, they were quick enough with the drinks menu, although bringing it with the food menus would be nice. Overall, the food was ok, but not exceptional, as you would expect from a place with that reputation.
I think that the restaurant has ideas above their station with regards to service, seriously lacking in my opinion. After declining deserts, we waited for ages to even ask for a bill, and none of that sweet stuff was offered like other tables.
Overall our tip reflected the way we felt about our service.
Being served bread rolls, without asking, and then being charged €1.75 each for the privilege, is so 80’s
Wont be going back there again!
