Under new management since July 2021, The Anglers has seen a number of significant changes in recent times. Excellent food and drink stop,

Excellent food and drink stop, if you fancy a quick bite to eat such as a jacket, a panini or sandwich or even just a drink then The Anglers is a perfect choice. Lovely staff and newly refurbished interior now with the addition of an outdoor area, sports screens (played quietly) great music I really enjoyed a few visits this week, well looked after. Well done guys.

Good Lunch

Called in for lunch after a walk along the Annan river. Good food, pleasant friendly staff and a very nicely decorated pub. This was our first indoor sit-down meal post COVID lockdown and we were very pleased with the precautions that were in place. There was lots of hand sanitiser available and the tables were well spaced and were cleaned as soon as people left. We were asked to leave test and trace details, and one member of each party was asked to be the designated lead who went up to the bar to order. There is also no standing at the bar. None of these precautions was intrusive and it felt like a safe and pleasant experience.

Excellent Food, Great Service, Affordable Prices

Exceptionally Good Food. My friend and I treat ourselves to lunch here periodically. The staff are lovely and attentive, without being in your face and the meals are consistently good. Great portions, freshly made and taste excellent. If you are in the area, this hostelry is well worth a visit if you are looking for quality food at reasonable prices.

A good place for lunch if passing through or nearby

Stopped here for a quick lunch on the way to the cottage and I would recommend it to people in Arran or passing through, there is a free carpark about 2 minutes walk away. Our lunch was a little under £18 for reference. We had a panini and wrap plus wedges and tea for two. Wedges were cooked well and fluffy. Other half enjoyed her wrap and my panini was nicely toasted, only criticism would be cheese was rather pushed to the middle not evenly spread over the ham. Salad was fresh and generous serving with coleslaw. Staff attentive and friendly

I booked lunch for 4 people 2 kids and 3 adults the morning of the day we wanted to go, I received a quick response with a time that suited perfectly! We were warmly welcomed and shown our table. The service was quick (which is always good when you have kids with you). I ordered a chinese curry chicken wrap and it was phenomenal the portion size was brilliant and my belly was full! The food was value for money! I will definitely be back.

A lovely lunch venue

We decided to go to the Anglers for lunch following a family event. None of us had been before, and the first thing that struck us was the layout. It was roomy, clean, and bright with plenty of space for the less mobile. Although it was fairly busy, we were quickly offered a table and the waitress took our drinks order. The menu had plenty of options and the food itself was excellent. Special mention to the prices. Four adult meals, one side, and a desert with drinks came to less than £85. Excellent value for money. The staff were polite, attentive and friendly, and our whole experience was first class from arriving to leaving. We will definitely be visiting again.

Delicious food and great staff!

Another lovely lunch at The Angler's today. The food is always tasty, it's very reasonably priced and the staff are always friendly and helpful. I have also had several afternoon teas and evening meals there too and have enjoyed every single one of them! Keep up the great work all of you! Ps great for evening entertainment at the weekend's too xx

Excellent pub lunch

Met friends for lunch after driving up from Peterborough. Had reserved a table indoors, but easily moved outside to sit in the sun. All the staff are very friendly and attentive. Food is excellent, whether it’s just a toasted sandwich ( Haggis, bacon and cheese... delicious ), or a full main course. We did visit two more times during the week, always the same excellent service. And in these COVID-19 times, socially distant measures were applied at all times.

Beautiful Birthday Buffet

We recently ordered a buffet from the Anglers for 12 people for a birthday celebration. It was absolutely delicious. Everything from ordering online, paying and delivery were faultless. As we live locally the buffet was delivered to our home on the time agreed and as expected. Everyone enjoyed the buffet. The presentation, standard and quality were all excellent. We will definitely use them again. Well done team Anglers.

Lovely staff, food and atmosphere.

My friend and I had lunch yesterday. We arrived and were greeted by a very pleasant young lady who showed us to our table. The room was busy, the atmosphere was lovely and we were attended to very promptly. We chose different meals my friend had scampi and I had the honey chilli chicken, both were served looking lovely on the plate and tasted amazing. Well done to everyone, you made us very welcome and we will definitely be back, thank you.

Lovely staff, lovely food

Popped in for lunch with our 6yo son. Food was delicious, and other meals around us looked gorgeous too. The staff were really lovely! We'll try and come back again begore we leave Annan. Definitely recommend to friends, family or foe 🤣

Couldn’t fault it! We visited after a long walk along the river with our 2 dogs and sat in the beer garden/terrace at the back. The staff were very friendly and brought a bowl of water for the dogs. We had the Scottie Dog, salt and pepper squid, mozzarella sticks and fries. All the food was excellent and they had cans of coke, rather than off the pump, which I prefer. My husband had a pint of IPA off the pump which he said was good. Perfect pit stop 🙂

Lovely place

What a lovely place, we visited on Tuesday after stopping a man to ask if he could recommend somewhere nice for lunch. Was he correct, food was brilliant staff were excellent and a lovely place. We are back down in the area in October will definitely be visiting again .

Excellent choices on menu and all reasonably priced. Drinks on tap are of a wide range and again well priced. Staff were excellent nothing too much bother. Attentive but not intrusive. Great experience all round.

Last trip out before an other lockdown

Seeing it was the last day you could go for drink and a meal we decided to go for a meal and a wee drink, no drink after 6pm due to Covid-19 restrictions, so we booked two tables, the place was really nice well decorated, clean and friendly staff, as it was only my second time out since March the draft beer wes really nice, when the food came they were good portions and really nice Pub grub. All the safety measures were in place, plenty of notices and the staff was very helpful as well. I will return.
