Had a trip down memory lane in Annan with my family and went for lunch at the Café Lounge Bar in The Corner House Hotel. Ordered lunch, two young men were seated at the table next to us, one of them coughed the whole way through his lunch, not once did he put his hand over his mouth!! When they finished they went to the bar to pay, neither had masks on but one put his on half way down his face, they paid then ordered cakes to take out and never once did the man serving ask them to put their masks on!! When we finished lunch my brother went to pay and forgot to put his mask on, the man that had just served the two men ( obviously locals ) said to my brother " you've not got your mask on sir" my brother immediately put his mask on, both my sister-in-law and myself said to the man that he never once asked the two men to put their masks on, his reply was that he hadn't noticed!!!! I don't know how as he had been talking to them both for 10 minutes. Obviously one rule for local people and another for visitors!!!! I certainly wouldn't go back.

Our two night stay was excellent, the staff were very pleasant and very helpful. The room was lovely and cleaned every day with clean towels. Only one fault was that the bathroom was quite cold but it was bearable for the time we were in there. The food we had was really good and they have an extensive drink choice behind the bar. Car parking at rear and central location, 20min pleasant walk to Annan distillery.

If I had known there was a Subway up the road , we would’ve gone there !! Gorgeous building from the outside, this is what lured us in ! Menu looked okay but very sadly the food was not good, at all . The savoury cheese baguette presented as cheap pre made spread of runny mayo with what looked like some cheese and sweetcorn thrown in , it looked so disgusting I couldn’t eat it . Lentil soup had minimal taste . The chips were awful too , I’m not sure if they had been cooked , left for a while and then reheated …… whatever the case they were just about edible but not enjoyable .
I would definitely not recommend this establishment and am annoyed we wasted our money there .

I only stopped by for a coffee and thought that the cappuccino was excellent. I also loved the warm yellow decor and spacious interior. The toilet was clean and pleasant. Service was professional and friendly.

Pleasantly surprised by this little gem, recommended by a local.Homely and friendly with tasty freshly prepared food. Had soup and a sandwich which was really nice. Get a great view of the street below. We arrived at 2.59pm...not realising til we had ordered that they finish serving at 3pm! Phew...we wouldn't even have realised as, No one made a grouch or a grumble, or an "I'll check with the kitchen" before taking our order. So they get an extra star for the hospitality of not making customers feel like they are putting staff out for arriving at end of service. I would go back.

We can not recommend this lovely little coffee shop enough. It's right on the high street, convenient free car parking nearby, head up the stairs and find yourself a window seat. We had coffees and cake. The Americano coffee might have been the best tasting coffee i have ever had. Not too strong, certainly not weak. A rich smooth taste with a clean palate and a subtle aroma. We shared the gluten free vegan lemon & ginger cake. It was moist and full of flavour. Beautiful cafe interior with some artwork on the walls to catch your eye. The young lady who served us was friendly, nothing was too much trouble. A definite hidden gem of Annan

We have been using The Corner House for our Sunday brunch for the last three months or so and I had forgotten to review it so am putting it right today.
Right in the heart of Annan its part of the Corner House Hotel. The menu is quite extensive but as importantly is the service which we have always found to be brilliant. The staff are very friendly and it is clear that is a popular meeting place for many of the locals.
Normally we will have a soup and half baguette and curly fries and wash it down with a tea and a caramel latte that all comes in at around £15.00. Excellent value for money, very relaxed and the perfect place to start your Sunday.

Just stopped in for a light lunch and coffee. Good little friendly cafe, quite a few people in which is a good sign.
Just had coronation chicken baguettes and fries, with coffees, good homely food, very tasty.
Reasonably priced and service with a smile.

The corner house café is easily missed being upstairs from the entrance but this has become a favourite place for a light lunch after a walk. The service is friendly and the food good and at a sensible price. the view from the upstairs windows looking down on Annan high street is pleasant. All in all well worth a visit

This is one of the very few comfortable places to meet a friend for coffee in Annan. The choice of cakes is limited but the staff are very friendly and it's quite. Coffee is drinkable but not memorable. I have used the events room for a poetry prose event in the past and it was a really nice space to use, with staff who could not be more helpful and a nice bar .
