Another wedding anniversary visit for us, and yet again a lovely meal , excellent service and the view over the Solway. Having eaten here a few times we have got to trust the chefs , and are willing to go out on a limb taste wise and try something. We have yet to be let down. The food is always superb, with wonderful taste combinations. The service from our charming waitress was at once efficient , friendly, and knowledgeable, without ever bordering on over or under attentive. They seem to be on top of all aspects of the dining experience here from the moment you walk through the door to the moment you leave. Highly recommended

We went to Del amitri last night for dinner. It is located within Powfoot hotel. For the non locals and the users of sat nav do not despair as you travel into what appears empty farmlands. Stick with it and all will be revealed when you reach the coast and minutes later the hotel. There are stunning views from the hotel and restaurant within. We were greeted warmly and shown to our table. We had booked early that day. Booking ahead is essential here. We were in the restaurant but meals are also served in the bar. I cannot give any details on the bar. The menu at this restaurant is strange in that one chooses 2/3 dishes and maybe a side dish all of which come in tapas style whenever they are ready. It is an interesting and almost novel way to dine. The food had a Mediterranean/ British feel to it. We had various dishes , 3 each and a side each including crayfish/samphire salad, roast chicken on a bean cassoulet and haggis stovies. About 80% of the way through the meal we had to wave the white flag. Maybe 2 dishes and a side each next time. Dessert and coffee ended our amazing visit. This is not a restaurant for those on a budget. We did not grudge a penny of our bill for this amazing gourmet experience but I had to make this point clear. We have also earmarked the hotel for our next visit to the area. The staff have advised it can be an “interesting “ location in rougher sea conditions. A restaurant not to be missed.

We had two evening meals in Del Amitri and tried a variety of the tapas-style dishes and all were superb. We are vegetarian and apart from the veggie dishes advertised on the menu the chef went out of his way to adapt other dishes for us. The variety of ingrediaents and dishes available is very impressive and all cooked to perfection.

We had a lovely meal here, their summer menu is tapas style, staff were lovely & explained the menu really well. The food was great & quite reasonable, our only complaint was that they don’t have high chairs for kids, they do offer a booster seat that fits on to a chair but this really wasn’t suitable especially for a lively 2 year old toddler. We were staying along the road at the caravan park so nipped along & brought our own or we wouldn’t have been able to wait for dinner. Please consider splashing out for high chairs as this could be a deal breaker for families of young children

I booked a couple of months in advance for a special birthday Sunday lunch.
We have been before and it is one of our favourite restaurants and worth the drive.
The views and food are spectacular.
First issue was being unable to get parked so had to wait about 20 mins on a space becoming available but luckily we were early.
Friendly welcome as ever into the restaurant which was the quietest we’d ever seen it however every table outside was taken due to the the lovely weather.
Our drinks order was taken and then our food order was taken. Our starter was served and I would say it wasn’t as well presented as normal but still amazing value for money.
We finished our starter and asked if they could rush along our drinks. The reply was that they were really busy. Our mains came shortly followed by the drinks.
The roast beef was as tender as ever with a lovely selection of vegetables. I had asked for horseradish sauce but I was almost finished my main by the time it arrived.
The food was lovely and amazing value as we’d have easily spent much more on drinks if we could get them.

Was up in Powfoot for a family holiday and we went to del Amitri for our Sunday dinner and I was very impressed. I had beef with Yorkshire pudding (which were huge) and was offered the beef pink or cooked which is always a good tick in my book. Everything tasted great and the service was great.

Lovely lunch with plenty of variety and small selection for children. Food was tasty, hot and well presented. View over Solway was spectacular as always. Sadly, the disorganised service really detracted from the otherwise enjoyable experience. We asked 2 different members of staff 5 times to order our food before someone actually took our order. Normally, I would have got up and left, but I was a guest so didn't feel I could. Hope this was just a one-off.

Delicious dinner. All dishes are prepared carefully and presented beautifully, and the service is attentive and friendly. Lovely views from the restaurant and hotel across the Solway Firth. Do book in advance for dining or afternoon tea, but you can also call in for hot rolls or a scone in the morning. The Facebook page can alert you to available tables. We’d particularly recommend the rhubarb panna cotta with stem ginger ice cream - it was fabulous and looked really pretty.

The weather was terrible but we were looking forward to our dinner with our 10 year old granddaughter. She has an anaphylactic allergy/reaction to anything with egg in.
The staff could not have been more accommodating, they bent over backwards to help us, and she loved the “biggest hotdog in the world”.
Both my wife and I had meals off the specials menu.
Fabulous, and very reasonable price.
My family are regular visitors to the Del Amitri restaurant in the Pow Foot hotel, my first time but certainly not the last.

Unbelievable food with a lovely view. We stayed here for one night and from the outside it’s a decent local hotel. The food however at dinner was absolutely amazing, we gad a tasting menu and a veggie burger (a proper one handmade with no pretend meat) and then desert. Highly recommended 🤩

I had struggled to find somewhere for a nice Sunday lunch where we were staying in Dalbeattie. After an ever increasing radius outside the area I came across the Del Amitri/Powfoot Hotel. The reviews were good and it didn't disappoint. On the day that we were there, they only had one chef so the set meal was off but a roast beef dinner was still on the menu and it really was very nice. the service was great too, with several very friendly waiting staff.

We’ve been here several times. And it has been fabulous. Sadly not this evening, I ordered lamb, and I couldn’t even cut through it, let alone enjoy it. I asked for a glass of Cabernet Sauvignon and got a Sauvignon Blanc. So the main course was inedible, and whilst I was offered a substitute, no reduction was made from the final bill. Real disappointment, what has gone wrong with a once really nice restaurant?

Took our family out last night to one of our favourite restaurants in Dumfries and Galloway. The menu is back to traditional dishes rather than summer tapas. Five of us each enjoyed different dishes for our three courses. They where all superb. Fantastic flavours, beautiful presentation and just the right size portions for us. And the service was a absolutely faultless!
We cannot recommend this restaurant too highly!
